  • He came to my university on Tuesday and blew us all away. I want to be just like him.

  • thak u dear

  • As a mother of an adult son, thankfully well controlled with 5 seizure disorders, I admire Dr. Ben Carson and I've followed his work for the 22 years since my son's birth. He is my hero. Thank you for your work for many, Dr. Carson.

  • So true

  • i wanna b like him.he is such a inspiring personality.....

  • @01aasis As he said..you can be anything you want to be and put your mind to it. Good luck, dear.

  • Very inspiring!

  • lol he looks tired

  • I've never heard of Dr. Ben Carson but after one minute and 58 seconds of listening to his tremendously inspiring words I feel compelled to continue to watch YouTube videos of him and purchase and read his books.

  • The doc may be right- that there are no limits AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A NORMAL BRAIN. Unfortunately, there are many who do not from no fault of their own. Encephalitis, meningitis, birth injuries, strokes, etc. affect many of us who consequentially experience limits. While I am very thankful I had a competent surgeon who was able to help lessen my problem, I will always experience limits induced on me by a mosquito in the form of encephalitis. I was lucky enough to survive, but not without damage.

  • @TheTjsqueak My son has 5 seizure disorders,autism & others.He is spiritual&works at food bank..that is what counts.Help those who cannot help themselves.Good luck w your healing.Prayers.

  • You are a great inspiration. My parents, especially my Mother, instilled these positive and rewarding values of integrity in me and my siblings also. I'm so proud of you, and others like you.

  • He sure is inspiring. Every now and then I return to this video and listen to his. He is very right.

  • @mymarch I feel the exatct same thing. !

I watched his movie... "Gifted Hands"

  • I don't think I've ever seen someone that inspired me in 1 minute and 58 seconds just like that! The wisdom in this man is uncanny. God bless him....man, I'm not a crier but this sure made me tear up.

  • u inspire me!!!

  • I highly recommend his book "Take The Risk". It's a great read!

  • i'm going to buy your book

  • Both my friend and I want to become neurosurgeons like you and want to work at John Hopkins Medical Institute. Meeting you would be a dream come true!

  • he did my boys surgery

  • YOU ROCK!!!!!!

  • Ben , you made me to read books :|

  • suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper i love him

  • Dr. Ben Carson's "head" is on straight. (pun intended) He has just explained, in less than 2 minutes, what 'mankind' has been unable to explain and comprehend since the beginning of our exhistance as a civilized society. I'm 62 yrs old and a retired police officer who has seen and worked the streets of downtown Baltimore for 32 yrs..but I would stand at attention and salute this great man in a heartbeat and would do so without the slightest reservation. My inspirational icon- I thank u.

  • @Eball06 Dr. Ben Carson doesn't know what the African American Community is, he only knows about the Community of Humans with Brains... he is the kind of leader people with brains need terribly.

  • I'm from Romania and i know your history perfectly. You are my inspiration and i have a lot from u to learn. At the time i'm reading your book Gifted Hands!

  • Yes-I know him. We were together-I felt a real human being. So pleasant, humble, respectful and easy with himself. He said so much about the love of his mother--I asked if he had given her money. He said to the audience--'my mother lives with me and my wife'. Dr. Carson is a special gift to the world. I love him dearly. May the Lord continue to guide and nurture him.

  • Awesome. awesome, awesome.

  • Dr. Carson you are my inspiration!! not only as a physician but also as a Christian, I believed that faith and discipline are the perfect mix to success. God bless you and give you the chance to continue inspiring youngsters all around the world. If anyone else wants to know more about his amazing story please read his books "Gifted hands"," Think big", Take the risk" you will learn more about reaching all your personal goals and to believe in yourself and your abilities.

  • Although I state that his voice is relaxing. I disagree with his views about the environment. The environmental factors DO have an impact. As he stated, he was lucky to have a mother in the midst of his oppressive conditions in poverty. He had the tools to supersede his environment. You create a good environment you get good people. A bad environment you get bad people, unless they have the tools to overcome those impediments. Check out Jacque Fresco and the Venus project to learn more.

  • Last week I was given the first news from Dr. Ben Carson's office regarding my son's brain images of 4 brain abnormalities. It took me nearly 3 years to attain this absolutely outstanding man as my son's brain surgeon! Thank you Heather (his assistant) for helping me make this dream become a reality! I am relieved to know he is in the best "Gifted Hands" possible! Thank God for for the doctors like Dr. Ben Carson that still put people (their patients) before all else! Heather Lee ~

  • His voice is so relaxing...

  • YOU ARE AMAZING.

  • i will be like him

  • me to i love this man

  • oh and just incase someone plans to.

No hate comments on the Dura thing please

I agree 100 percent in what Ben carson says

  • Inspiring man

  • he talks like Toby from the office

  • wait dont forget to take of the Dura

  • This man is a true hero. He is someone who everyone should aspire to be like, not footballers or movie stars.

  • I respect him greatly as a person and a title but I do disagree with some of his ideas.... his creationist ideas is just crazy! how can a man like him believe in magic ?? I will say in a way he is "editing the magic the god made" and in a sense he might be half of god... Great man thou!

  • I'm a white woman, and I adore him too!!!

  • @ciociacynamonu ok thats kinda weird but i just hate people who think its a war between blacks and whites

  • @cutegirlsofine I hate them too . I just want to score under, that his story is amazing and really inspiring - no metter what colour of skin I have got.

  • @SuperSamCookeFan Everyone should emulate this wonderful gentleman.

  • traduzam isso =[

  • Thank You Dr. Carson! you give hope to the hopeless :)

  • great!

  • ppl who disliked this video clearly av no aim in life..BEN CARSON is my hero and am proud to be black!!

  • @SuperSamCookeFan Why do you speak as though because he's black, only young black males should emulate him? As though young males of other races are already on 'a good path'. That is so steryotypical if you ask me and a thinly veiled racist comment directed at young black males. There are hundreds of thousands of young black males just like him

  • @tamale26 lol...Black males are busy emulating rappers, so indeed they should emulate this Dr. Listen to him. His mothers beleived in him. She allowed limited TV. Black males seem to only look at other young males.

  • @kmcl11 There are many white males who emulate wayward celebrities as well. In this day and age, the youth are busy emulating celebreties who see drugs, alcohol and anti social behaviour as cool and normal and it cuts across all races, not just the black race. I know many white young males and females who think its cool to do drugs. And don't generalize it to mean all black males, I supppose you meant SOME African-Americans. Blacks in Africa are not particularly funs of rap music.

  • @tamale26 I agree with both your statements and I was one of those black males who was emulating rappers, artist, and trying to fit in with what i thought was cool.It set me back extremely far.I got tattoos to look tough, that i regretted later, dropped out of college.Thank god i never drank or did drugs. But watching TV nlistening to certain rappers, artists, and seeing how they dress, and trying to be them, hurt me big time.It took me 6yrs to come out of that scene.Trying to be someone i wasnt.

  • @tamale26 It led me to deep depression n trying to find out who i really was.I had been living a lie until i realized the affect it had on me.Without education,I was nothing.I used to see rappers, ball players that were black, cause that's who i looked up to,Most if not all of them never went to college or graduated,I thought that i didn't have to.Now that ive pulled myself out of that shell,im on my way to PA school,it was the hardest thing that i had to overcome in my life.Life Lesson learned

  • @kmcl11 And my question is, is he not a role model for the wayward white young as well? And in any case I don't see anything wrong with rap music. I listen to it but I don't do drugs, don't engage in anti social behaviour, don't smoke weed or even cigar and I'm a young black African.See people like Amy Winehouse who died out of too much drugs and alcohol abuse is being idolised by many young white females in Britain. Just admit he is a role model for all regardless of colour

  • @kmcl11 I agree with both your statements and I was one of those black males who was emulating rappers, artist, and trying to fit in with what i thought was cool.It set me back extremely far.I got tattoos to look tough, that i regretted later, dropped out of college.Thank god i never drank or did drugs. But watching TV nlistening to certain rappers, artists, and seeing how they dress, and trying to be them, hurt me big time.It took me 6yrs to come out of that scene.Trying to be someone i wasnt.

  • @SuperSamCookeFan it's funny how Dr. Carson stresses the insignificance of race and you proceed to say young "black" males while speaking of who should emulate Dr. Carson.

  • I can watch this video over and over again and still have the same outcome as the first time i ever watched it!!! Dr. Carson, you are an inspiration to all people, it doesn't matter what your race is! ONE DAY I WANT TO MEET YOU! I have family that live in the Baltimore area and the next time I'm out that way I will look you up at John Hopkins. GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED YOU ALONG WITH YOUR LOVING MOTHER! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

  • @SuperSamCookeFan

    Are you black? Just curious...

  • He's one of my heroes.

  • i <3 him... x)

  • which two idiots diskliked this video ?

  • @SuperSamCookeFan I'm white and I regard him as one of my greatest inspirations. Can we stop focusing on race, and perhaps focus on those who are such great inspirations to all people. Perhaps we could say that he is an individual which all young people could emulate. As long as there is a focus on race, there will always be an issue with race. People should love others for who they are, rather than their race. Google Morgan Freeman's video on racism. "Solution: Stop talking about it."

  • @ANGELBLU2042 Just wanted to say thank for your wonderful remarks. I am also white. I love the movie about his man and am also inspired by him. I so terribly wish that we could stop talking about color. IF we are ever invaded by aliens and our very existence as a species is threatened, we will have to come together all as one and forget everything about our color and cultural differences and unite as humans. Our very survival may depend on it.

  • His voice is so soothing ,,and he is such a good man ....... how can anyone dislike this video ?

  • @raandiya I was also thinking the same. How can anyone possibly dislike this video? For what reason? But then again some people might just dislike it just for the fun of it. Or maybe they were like ''no one has disliked this video, let me be the first to do that''

  • I want to meet you! You inspire me. Specially after reading the Gifted Hands!

  • @JACQMANIA same here!

  • @JACQMANIA Ben is coming to our school on Jan. 26, 2012! Can't Wait!

  • Im here cos of movie with Cuba G.J. Nice movie, amazing person

  • @0011223344551 you can and will i will be praying for you

  • @0011223344551 yoiu can and will i will pray for you

  • @0011223344551 you will be i have faith in you

  • Ben obviously puffed some of the medicinal prior to this interview...maybe that's his secret.

The "Gifted Hands" book was far better than the movie, btw. Cuba's performance was downright horrid.

  • He gave a very nice speech I heard. Unfortunately he delivered a misinformation about the constitutional convention and the proposal for prayer set forth by Benjamin Franklin.

  • It is sad that people admire rappers and fornicating athletes much more than real heroes like Dr. Carson.

Carson is a shining example of success for his entire race.

  • this man is my absolute hero im going to be just like him im only 15 and i read on a university level and after watching this i reliezed something.....i have to do better to be as amazing as this man.....he is and always will be my idol

  • The message I'm getting from Dr.C is that each individual decides their own reality through their own decisions; however, emulation of himself by others is not his goal, rather it seems to be an encouragement of individual realization...

  • today i recieved a lettersays: we are saorry to inform you that you are not accepted in ORL-Head&neck surgery program. though it was my dream to be a head &neck surgeon.

now after seing this professor i will keeop trying, never lose hope,,,,, some day the dream is gonna come true

dr.carson thanx ... u really made my dat

  • @Msh3oL51 you do it ,

  • @SuperSamCookeFan you dont just have to be black and young to follow his steap you can be whatever race and still follow his footstep :)

  • Dr. Carson is an inspirating man who saves the lives of people in need i love you Dr. Carson

  • good man, good uncle tom. more black men should be uncle toms, then they could stop living in a shit hole.

  • @Liekkek F**k yourself

  • this man is blessed

  • so inspiring

  • He's the father I never had

  • @SuperSamCookeFan

Exactly, instead of the hottest rapper or athlete.

  • Thank you Dr. Carson.... Your an inspiration and an American Hero!

  • @SuperSamCookeFan Right on. He is a major inspiration! I may not want to be a doctor but gives encouragement to carry on in reaching your dreams despite circumstances

  • pause at the middle of the vid. get your books, STUDY!

    that's what i did!

  • This man is not just a scientist..He is a DOCTOR..There is a huge difference between a scientist and a doctor..A scientist will be able to take that tumor out..but a doctor will..change your life..

  • The one person that didnt like this is an idiot.

  • @tcarrot Me too! You can do it!!

  • @mymarch

Beautiful truths. Thanks for sharing this clip.

  • I wish there were more people out there like him. Unfortunately people are too caught up in their own lives to make a difference in the world. Instead of following celebrities who aren't going to make a single change for us, we should instead look up to people like Dr. Carson instead. He is truly a inspirational, honest, and hardworking fellow. He is the perfect example of never give up and dream the impossible.

  • I DNT KNOW WHAT TO SAY CAUSE THIS guy is justtt soooo heavenly sent

  • he gave the commencement speech for the graduating seniors last year at my college, wow. this guy is the American dream.

  • @Zippy1357 you're so lucky!

  • what a great guy, figures he is a brain surgeon and he knows the secret. Its your world, you can do anything you want,IF U PUT YOUR MIND TO IT,ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

  • Dr. Ben Carson is my inspiration to follow my heart into the career if medicine. I have followed him since 4th grade when i did a book report on him. Today, I bought his book The BIG PICTURE !!! He is such a awesome person!! Thank You Dr. Carson for sharing your story!!

  • i love this man god loves him...bless you ben carson

  • I did not know about Ben Carson utill a few minutes ago and I must say he is going down as one of the few people in this world who inspire me to keep on pursuing, not my dream, but my goal. Thank you so much for your inspiration Dr. Carson.

  • @tcarrot wait you're taking the med entrance exam already? i thought it was usually at the end of your college junior year

  • @junkevin Australia has a different system to get into medical school, although University of Melbourne is now going into the American/Canadian system, where you have to do some college years before getting in.

  • @leston4life wow. so you can get into med school right after high school?? scary stuff...

  • @junkevin That's right!! But you spend 6 years to get your medical degree instead of 4 years in the US/Canada system.

  • I Love you Ben Carson......God Bless!

  • Dr. Carson is getting me through Vanderbilt.

  • he's unique

  • how did you get an interview????

  • i just finished watching the tv movie, with cuba gooding jr..absolutely fantastic

  • Oh yeah, and 2 more things: 1) Best Wishes TCarrot, I relate to you, I believe in you and I know you will do well! ♥ 2) My sincerest accoloades to Cuba Gooding Jr...as he did a superb, incredible job of portraying the wonderful Dr. Ben Carson in the movie! ♥

  • I cannot wait until I have kids so that I can show them this movie! Dr. Carson's mother is also a truly amazing and inspirational woman! His story gives me a new perspective on life! ♥

  • What a wonderful, amazing, remarkable and outstanding person! So Inspiring! I just watched "Gifted Hands" and cried many times because it touched me so deeply. There's a quote from Albert Einstein that comes to mind as I hear him talk about how miraculous the brain is...a quote I live by and it is..."There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." I choose to live my life the latter way. Thank you Mr. Carson! ♥

  • @tcarrot Good luck buddy!

you'll do great...keep pushing your limits.

  • face book. com/Dr Ben Carson for President and join his

  • people put far too much emphasis on the wrong things.... It's ridiculous how true this is

  • vi la pelicula de la historia de be carson y realmente me encanto, como un hombre proponiendose y con la ayuda de Dios puede llegar tan lejos.

  • Dr. Ben Carson is a man that I truly respect and look up to. His words of wisdom should be heard by all youth in America.

  • @tcarrot awsome dude.i pray u get wat u wnt....m a medical student myself in 3rd yr nd i kno wht it takes to get into a medical school ..ALL de v.bst :)

  • @TheBearHHH 13 years ago.

  • @TheBearHHH Yeah, he did my brain surgery when i was 3.

  • @tcarrot hey tacarrot, good luck with UMAT in July. I wish you all the best. However, if you do not make it into medicine - do NOT GIVE UP. Go study Biomedical Science or Pharmacy at university and then sit the GAMSAT (graduate entry). There are many ways of getting in. You have a dream, combine this with willpower, compassion and perseverance and you will become a doctor.

  • @tcarrot he does this with gods hlp

  • God Bless this man!! Through God this man has helped so many people, he is my inspiration to go to med school after I finish my nursing degree.

  • he was at my school today (:

  • Yeah, Ben Carson is the man. A true role model. Gifted Hands is an amazing book, absolutely inspiring.

  • why can't more black people be like Dr.Carson or like Obama?

  • @letsplay803

Don't compare this great man to Obama!!! This man is a mountain compared to that sewer dwelling fraud, liar & affirmative action punk living in our White House!

  • i know man we miss W, we all do. obama is a professor. george walker bush was a leader

  • @flyboymd82 u do know that he has some views similar to obama especially on community service

  • @abcchoy

I share some conservative and liberal ideologies. There are great conservatives and liberals in this world. His views DO NOT take away from his accomplish
