When I heard their EP and Eternal Duality I thought they were godsend...

When I heard Back To Times of Splendor........ I think I died and was born anew.... it's not an album... its a revelation.

I'm sorry but I doubt even Disillusion can top that... much less anyone else.

BTTOS is a timeless epic. No matter how you put everything else, you can't top or even come close to that. Again I'm sorry. I love Disillusion as a band... but I worship BTTOS as an album.

The reason because they changed style in Gloria is because the band thinks they achieved their best level of progressive death metal album with BTTOS and they could not do any better than that, so In order not to spoil BTTOS with another, lower quality release of the same style they decided to explore new influences that ended up in Gloria. In my opinion this is something good, at least they changed style for a reason, not cause any producer told them to do so.

I saw the band yesterday at a concert. they told me a new album will possibly come out the following year. but obviously they wouldnt tell me anything about moving further or going back to the metal roots. im open for everything BTTOS is one of the best metal albums I've ever heard but I also enjoy gloria. Im pretty excited what the new album will bring us.

hmmm i think gloria isnt nearly as good... they lost their style somehow... too many electrical stuff, not enough metal... well could be because on bttos they were 4 guitarists and 2 drummers or something like that and on gloria they were only 3 people at all, but nothing will reach the awesomeness of bttos so easily :)

Actually it sounds a bit sloppy. There's always a lot of editing, but this is what a decent band sounds live. If they were to rerecord stuff, why wouldnt they edit all the problems in the the kick drum, and the guitar transitions? :)

I just mean that you should always consider that almost every live track that sounds as good as this one went through a lot of studiowork. I don't think that's a bad thing though, I don't like most live clips when they sound too sloppy.

I acctually started out by buying Gloria, and I fell in love with it after a few listens, then I got this album, and have to say that they are both amazing, though not similar at all. I think that a band can go from one music style to another is a sign of incredible greatness.
