Hmmm - the greeks did something like this a really long time ago. Aeolipile - I think it was. Only, in place of the loop, they had a brazen sphere with water in it. The water was heated from the outside, to a boil. And, due to the direction of the pipes (as you have done), the spinning was achieved.
