@droc2pus OK your observation is correct for this one but please check out more of this group (not just this vid).All of the Hakus here are award winning Tsugaru Shamisen players including 2nd place in northern Japan. there are different versions where the Hakus do indeed take the melody. Monsters of Shamisen has hundreds of vids posted. and all players on this vid can cover traditional Japanese Shamisen very well. please look a little deeper before judging from just one vid!!
