@Kraemder Thanks for the comment, I love my Versys. I hope my videos don't let you down, I wasn't very good at vlogging and have fallen out of the youtube community a bit with getting a new job and stuff. Take care!
Old thread but I just found your vblog and I'm starting at the beginning. Good to see a Versys blogger like others said - you have my exact bike! I'll keep watching to see if you talk about its performance why you chose it etc. My coworkers find the Versys a little confusing and refer to it as that thing. Great video quality. Much better than any of the other vblogs. I hope the camera I ordered works out as well.
@corbint I stick a sony t90 camera on my chinbar w/ a bit of velcro then when the visor is closed the visor prevents the camera from moving. Kinda wedged between my long nose and the visor. thats it really.
@slowfaller is there any way you can take a pic of this setup and post it? im trying to see how you would have that much space, i cant slide a cam into my helmet :-(
@corbint Check out "steelhorseclub" he's got a video explaining the same setup as mine. Remember, the sony t90 is an extremely thin camera. "Suburbanryder" did a helmet cam set-up vid w/ a vado hd and a Bell helmet that works well too.
Don't ride in the center of the lane as this is where most of the oil collects (from leaking car engines) & over time you will slowly coat your tires with oil which may not show up until you have to make a panic stop. rideing on the left side of the lane makes you easier to see in the drivers side mirror for the car in front of you & gets less oil on your tires. Love the Versys & I'm torn between it, the SV 650 or a Duke 690.
Hey man, no vids from you recently. I'd love to see a review on your bike so far. Not just one of those, "It's great, i love it, that's it." kinda reviews. How many miles you got on her?
I wish i could get some money together, i love the versys. I don't live very far from you, we could go on a versys ride.
Thanks for the compliment. I can't tell you length of charge because I haven't used it all that much. Online reviews should be able to tell you. I will say that out of the 4 sony cybershots with this one being the 5th I've owned, its the worst :/
No prob man.......But really it kinda sucks huh? hmmm... I been looking at that cam for a while, you mind sharing why its the "worst" outta the ones you've had? I've owned a couple cybershots myself and have been happy overall....
My bad I should've been more specific. The battery life seems worse than the others. The camera itself is really nice, takes good photos, good video and has many features. The touch screen works well too.
Oh ok cool, ya I was gonna say man the vid quality is really good, what could suck? lol .... Plus its slim which is a must for us "vloggers" :) thanks bro ....
BTW, they have some pretty sweet touring shields. At least the Versys doesn't buffet stock like the Strom.
I had always ridden little sportier or naked bikes, and of course wore plugs without exception. But with the touring shield, its the first time I feel I don't have to.
Yeah, it´s hard to find a versys vlogger, i think the bike is very interesting and like your Vstrom they´re underrated bikes, not by the way they perform, but for the way they look; If you want to check out there´s anoother versys vlogger called kfallscody.
Great video/audio quality. I'll have to check out that camera when I have the money to upgrade my setup. And I love your bike, looks like a great setup for touring and bike camping. I'm working on assembling the gear to go bike camping soon, would love to see what you use in terms of tents, sleeping pads, etc.

hey, guy, word of advise, don't wear gear. Wear a long sleave shirt, and comfortable pants and footwear, if you feel it's gonna rain, buy yourself a regular leather jacket or windbreaker not motorcycle gear jacket, something light and breathes, get rid of all those shitty saddle bags and just ride with a back pack. packing light will make your motorcycling enjoyable
lol what do you do for a living that lets you watch youtube during the working hours and another person you should check out is downshift83, he rides a zx6r like me but he knows how to do all the tricks. have fun and be safe... at least try to be safe lol.
I repair phone systems remotely by dialing in through a modem therefore when I'm running a script in a phone system I can also watch youtube. Multi-tasking my friend :) I'm subbed to downshift. I consider myself to be safe, does the video show otherwise?

My wife and I took the V for about a 300 mile camping trip and she was not very comfortable but short rides are fine.

nice set of bags man. how much they coast? $ or euros?
Nisotovski 1 year ago
@Nisotovski They were not cheap! Price them out at twistedthrottle website, I don't remember how much they cost. Givi bags and sw motech racks.

@slowfaller
the bike looks nicer with them :D otherwise its to much empty on the back

Hi.
I`m driving a Versys too. Mine is Candy Burned Orange. I love this color.
My question is why do you allways use the distance light (is it called so?) Is it a rule in your country?
In Germany we must use the nomal light at any time but not the distance light.
Only by night if nobody comes against.
Greetings
P.S. Excuse me for my bad english.
dirku2000 1 year ago
@dirku2000 No problem about your English, I wish I still knew German from studying it high school.
I use the distance light, or hi-beam, during the day so that other vehicles see me better, its not a law just something we do here.

Major FAIL on trying to hide the tag. Who cares what your tag number is dude. People see it every time you drive it down the road.

Nice vid, especially for the first one.
Just a suggestion for a topic, how about a bike camping topic. I was amazed how much gear you have on your bike.
spearfysh 2 years ago
That's a good suggestion although I've only bike camped twice! Do you have any specific questions I can address?
slowfaller 2 years ago
Maybe the gear you use, gear you thought you would use but don't and how its packed on your bike, if it changes how the bike handles if at all.....
spearfysh 2 years ago
Nice vid mate, i love ur bike so much. One day i want a bike like that for touring. I think here in Aus it's called a KLR. :D

Excellent first vlog. You nailed the technicals too camera aim was good and sound was good. Not many get it on the first vlog.
You know one of these days we are going to pass each other going opposite directions vlogging at the same time.

Thanks, I got lucky I think
Everything was going well until my throat felt like it was being stabbed.
Also I'm suprised how fast the 7 minutes went, making a ten minute video should be no problem.
