She is really good a selling her books and her prepaid debit card. She is also the posterchild for increasing the continuing education requirements for holding insurance licensing.
Ms. Orman does not know what she is talking about here. Out of that $14k annual policy, the base cost of insurance would be around $4k, and that is the amount the commission would be figured on. The rest of the money buys paid up additions, which turbo-charges the growth of the policy and gives you instant access to cash. Oh yeah, and there is little, if any, commission on a PUA. We do this because we want to HELP people, not sell products like Ms. Orman tries to do!
Whole life insurance is a savings vehicle and a protection vehicle... but it is NOT to be sold as an "investment". That's just stupid - particularly on the part of the agent.
That said, the fact that Suze is licensed in 49 states means NOTHING. That's not "insurance background". That's just spending money every year for licensing! I am an insurance agent and it's easy to get licenses in ANY state. Just pay the fee and have a current license in your state of residence in good standing.
@740skippy I laughed when she spoke to herself being licensed in 49 states, it's absurd and meaningless. You take one exam in your state and then pay fees for the others. Plus her advice is almost criminal. She's out to sell books, that's all.
