actually i think its michelles sister thats in the blue in the back singing soprano. michelle and the other girl in the back are on alto and the girl beside michelle is on tenor. and in dc beyonce is the one who mostly sang alto. kelly sang soprano and michelle sang tenor.

@justindwebber No, it's definately Michelle on the top, she has quite a disntinct, piercing tone in her upper chest range...just because she tended to sing tenor with DC doesn't mean she isn't more resonant and powerful singing higher. She actually uses much more of her upper chest range than Kelly does yet Kelly tended to sing top in DC

@JonathanGardnerTV im not saying she cant sing soprano well. im just saying that she wasnt the one singing it in this vid. it was her sister in the back. it doesnt rly sound like michelle singing soprano and you can tell by the way each singer is positioned and the shape of their mouths who is singing which part.

@JonathanGardnerTV and kelly is the one who sang soprano mostly bc she doesnt really have a strong lower register and because her tone was more pure and clearer than michelles which balanced their harmonies better. a few times the would switch it up and they would sing different parts but the best formula was was for kelly on soprano, bey on alto, and michelle on tenor.

@justindwebber I really believe Michelle is on the soprano line, you can hear her piercing tone very clearly. 0:30-0:35 is very clearly her. In this vid you can hear why Kelly took the top parts mostly because Michelle's upper chest range is very piercing and would dominate rather than blend as well as Kelly's. In the Rotterdam Gospel Medley, when Michelle switches to the top on "all to thee my BLESSED SAVIOUR" her distinct tone powers through...

@dc3lover, If I remember correctly, it was called MTV Live and it was 2 hours...they were promoting the Survivor CD and they had some guests from childhood and Beyonce's teacher, I think. I have it on VHS as well!

It's like Beyonce's eyes turned into a microscope as she was looking to & looking at them. Lol! Bey was definitely impressed, which says a lot! Michelle definitely proved her reason for being in Destiny's Child. Also, she sang alto as a member of Destiny's Child, but her part was clearly soprano on this one. Did anyone hear that crisp run that she did on the line, "I'll keep you company when you are alone?" OMG!!! Tenitra Michelle Williams is my girl all day long.
