They were just there to add another side-story to help explain Ichigo's hollow powers. Yoruichi, Urahara, and Isshin would have been enough to handle the job.

Isshin would have creamed Starrk. Urahara would have dominated Barragan. And Yoruichi would have relentlessly owned Halibel. So yes, that is correct. Then all three would have wooped Gin, Tousen, and Aizen. Although, it would have made no different on Aizen. Although it would have made all of Ichigo's friends dead, since Gin did kind of delayed Aizen on killing his friends. But... Ichigo and Urahara would still have owned Aizen at the end.

Urahara is a mystery, but what is great about a Mystery is you don't know what he is going to do. Aizen surely didn't and if Urahara could have sealed Aizen, he most certainly could have beaten Barragan like Hachi had done.

Isshin stood toe to toe against Aizen's Catalyst form. Aizen was able to beat every single captain (aside from Yamamoto, which was done by a trap) including the ones that had fought Starrk. If Shunsui could beat Starrk and pre-Catalyst Aizen could beat Shunsui, do u get it?

Yeah, it was a shame. The only one that really did anything useful was the one that helped Soi-Fon beat Barragan.

Sorry, I hadn't wrote what I had intend to write correctly. I meant, long or short wouldn't have worked. Remember, Soi-Fon's vice-captain is a long range user and he just irritated Barragan to the extent of using an executioner's weapon on him.

Well they weren't really that useful. They just annoyed Halibel and just delayed Starrk's fight with Shunsui. Or basically gave Shunsui a little break.

I don't know, I think Soi Fon is really bad, but she was holding back against Ggio, and Barragan was just a bad matchup for her. She is a melee-type fightern, and you needed to be long-range to fight him.

No. Any weapon of any sort would have not worked against him, whether it be long range or short range.

But remember, he is a freaking undead monster like any zombie or skeleton you've seen in Final Fantasy or Heroes of Might and magic. Fire and Holy always works.

I would have loved to see the Captain-Commander vs. Barragan.

I always thought the Captain-Commander would had made a logical and better means to have killed Barragan off, because in most fantasy-genre games which have liches (which Barragan is), fire tends to be a universal weakness. That and holiness. Unohana and Yamamoto, logically concerning the fantasy genre of liches, are the only ones who should hold the upper hand against Barragan.

Well, that might not be too much of a stretch, she really might be the strongest of the vice-captains. She is definitely better than Soi-Fon's, Ukitake's, and Kyoraku's sidekicks.

Believe it or not, but Rangiku is the strongest Vice-Captain. You would think it be Hisagi or Renji, but it is actually Rangiku. LOL! I am just kidding, Kubo is just such a troll. Besides, she gets help by (I don't know why they let outside of the psyche-ward) Hinamori later on.

Actually I don't think Hinamori should had been in here at all. Give Rangiku two more abilities with her Shikai, similar to the fact that Urahara has multiple abilities with his shikai and this fight could had been as easily done without Hinamori. Of course Hinamori could have easily been brought in later just to tick Hitsugaya off, when he thought he had killed him, but that could be explained as Aizen's Bankai. Which would be bad ass and reflect his troll like behavior, manipulate time&space.
