  • I honestly don't think that it's possible for Jay to get any bigger on his 5'9" frame. He looks absolutely massive!

  • Team omega u are a dumb ass he is benching 600 pounds

  • this guy can only incline bench 315 9 times? I would expect atleast 400 for 9 from a guy this big. I mean heck ronnie can do it.

  • when Jay's been doing the Smith Machine Bench Press, his head isnt even touching the bench coz his back is way too big... Jay is such a monster...

  • Hey Jay, You break em you buy em. Good thing nobody was standing in front of him when he slung the dumbells.

  • Ronnie Coleman > Jay cutler

    who disagrees ?

  • @nexmuscle when they're that heavy you should to avoid injury from twisting your shoulder

  • if im jay, I would not have shirts lol

  • light work... this is my warm up lol jkjk that was crazy his 1st workout like 8 plates damn!!

  • asdfghjkl

  • I DO Like jay cutler, but i don't like people who throw weights on the floor.

To a bodybuilder, Weights is a part of their life, they uses it almost most of everyday, & after finishes using it he dump it on floor @ 1.30minutes-.-

    dissapointed.

  • @NexMuscle push-ups and pull-ups, does this guy do either? just curious.

  • @RomanSage theres a vid on here somewhere with him doing pullups with somthing like 4 plates chained to his waist. yeah... pullups are not a fat mans exercise... do you see fat on him?

  • 1:32 - 2:03 true champ

    love you jay

  • lol I do db incline with 50s and jay does with 130s :D:D

  • 1:27 -1:31

    love you jay.

    I OWN THIS BITCH.

  • absolute beast. respect

  • does any one no! why? does he do incline banch with a bar then with dumbels??

  • @nemstuff he's focusing more on the upper chest, so he added two different exercises in his routine to hit more that body part.

  • @nemstuff using the dumbells forces the back/shoulder to use stabilizer muscles.

  • 415? lol 315 genius

  • _l_ fuck the 38 ppl who dislike this video! DUMB FUCKS

  • 1:07 really started scaring me

  • @bardeng ya alot of bodybuilders now are really short

  • you know what is really amazing, is his age. You never notice 18-20 year old guys competing with these guys, they have been lifting their whole lives, and to have over 15 years of work into a body through lifting and dieting is one of the most remarkable things. Yeah going to work everyday is one thing but bodybuilding isn't work, its a lifestyle.

  • He made 415 lbs. look like baby weight. lol

  • @excessiveforce03 u mean 315. 3 plates each side with bar is 315

  • @excessiveforce03 It's easier when your extension is half that of a normal person..

  • I wouldn't want to mess with this dude !!

  • did he hav to throw those dumbells to the floor when he's done? (O.o)

  • @djzilchdotcom they say it's to prevent any injury, so they just throw them. Don't know for sure if all bodybuilders do it, but at my local gym some young guy threw a dumbell my way after I picked up a couple and it almost hit my knee after it bounced off the floor. I was ready to beat some ass!

  • This is hella inspring, this dude is BEEF

  • 2:03-2:04 I ALWAYS got bitched at when i threw the weights down by the staff. it's either i throw them, or crack my face open and you have to clean it up and pay for my medical coverage!

  • big but not that strong

  • monster.... A+

  • Cutler is the fucking man

  • Ronnie would be like " Light weight" haha.

  • the hulks real son!!!

  • not the most intense lifter in the gym, like dorian or ronnie

  • why would you want to be that big?

  • @IVIonkey123 eh, different strokes for different folks. im sure body builders would ask why would you want to be small. personally, i dont want to be that big nor do i think i ever could be but props to him.

  • OMG his chest is eating his shirt when he does those cable crossovers

    BEAST

  • Nowadays there's no BB like The Great Jay Cutler

  • JAY JAY..... RONNIES COMMING BACK TO PLAY.....

  • Music played in 1:50?

  • Music played in 1:50?

  • he's only 36!

  • Excuse my ignorance, but why is he using a smith machine, I thought they were for amateurs?

  • @ByeByeGod strict form

  • hmm he does them all incline

  • His ROM is shocking

  • jay is one of the best bodybuilder ever, too bad is born in the same era with ronnie

  • Form could be better... but overall nice work, you are starting to see some results

  • 2:03 imagine throws that on your foot haha

  • Apparently on the day of the competition they hardly drink water because it makes the veins pop out more, and makes the muscles more impressive. Even though these guys take roids to get where they are, it takes real dedication and i respect them, because the live and breathe bodybulding 24/7.

  • so weak compared to other bodybuilders

  • hes a beast

  • HULK SMASH @ 1:10

  • he has a good name for a bodybuilder, Jay CUTler, it sounds strong

  • lol

  • At 2:00 wen he's doin the pulldowns or watever, his chest is so big its like every tym he goes inward he's gettin a chest wedgie LOL DAMN!

  • I hate it when a person can't put the dumbells back on the rack, some dudes at my gym have damaged and bent all the heavy dumbells because they think it looks cool to let them go and it makes them uneven and useless if they are to heavy you shouldn't be using them, I think i'll just start flinging them in the air and see if I can tear some of them up to so all of them can get bent all up and uneven!!!

  • @DOLLARCRISIS

Well, you're obviously not smart since "then" is incorrect. It's "than".

  • I laugh every time I hear him grunt count......Cause we all know we do the same thing when lifting heavy....

  • he's weak for his size, I wasnt impressed with these 225 sets

  • this guy is bigger than brock lesnar i want this man in mma

  • Im 19, and i bombed out 315 for 12 on the flat bench

  • u shouldnt reli lock ur arms its harder if u keep tension on the chest as u saw jay do and ronnie does, u dont bring triceps into it then cus secondarily wen u train chest u work ur triceps.

  • "how much can cutler max bench?" its not how much you can bench, its how much you look like you can bench

  • to ceeloc; the reason that they do short violant motions is because it builds more def. and these guys are not necessarilly in gaining the most strength but the best looking muscle

  • muscletech hit the big one when they got jay. he is epic! great guy and greatest bodybuilder ever!

  • CEELOC

yeah thats right, last night i was in the gym i noticed one good guy also does not go up

  • if you throw and smash the weights about does it help you get bigger? lol

  • the size of them . restricts the movement

  • hes going to light compare to his size i can go heavier than what his doing in the video he should go heavier

  • ya i've been noticing the same thing

  • A cut above.....Jay Cutler

  • Mr Cutler is gonna have four Mr Os by the end of next fall after he beats out Coleman, Branch, and Dex. Cutler is the king of kings now. he has improved so much and has fixed everything that went wrong in previous years...especially his god damn fucking tan.

  • if you lock out, you lose the tension. its not benificial to lock out

  • what i dont get, people always talk about TUT but he is doing between 8-10 reps at a fast pase, maybe tut between 20-30 sec, nothing like the 40 or 50 sec tut all articles claim to be the ideal range

  • that was amazing, those were 100 pound plates on the bench press

  • that way he get a big musle

    vv

    vv

    vv

    vv

    vv

  • Well when the arms are fully extended in bench, the chest stops taking the weight and becomes relaxed so the shorter reps mean the chest is constantly working making for a more intense set with a greater burn.

  • you work out the muscles when theyre semi stretched. you get way bigger and a way better workout because your muscles are always under pressure.

  • sk8forlife, I think I read somewhere that he can put up about 560 for a 1 rep max, on the bench press.

  • ceeloc, when you're training for mass building, it's best on some exercises to have continuous tension. That means don't lock out all the way because that puts all the effort on the joints instead of the muscle. You wanna keep that constant tension throughout the set. This applies to bench press, squats, leg press, and others. But that's only for mass building. So not everybody needs to follow that principle.

  • i agree with ceeloc! the pors never use full range of motion. I dont see how they can get such great results

  • ronnie was way stronger

  • i'm no bodybuilder or anything but i think they dont use full range of motion to keep maximum stress on the muscle for the whole set. which will make the muscle bigger

  • to respond to ceeloc..

when you fully extend in a movement such as the bench press you would be putting alot of added stress into your elbows and when you come all the way down you would be exerting strain on your shoulders, also when completing a full movement like that you would be removing a grunt of the workload from your chest every time, next time you do the exercise you should be able to get a feel for when the workload leaves your chest and is its most intense throughout your rep.

  • ceeloc.... going all the way up on bench places more stress on the tricep. While they are benching they want to focus only on the chest, they want to save there arms for another day. The same goes for shoulder presses, notice they never take them to full extension either. if you think about it, if they did take them to full extension, they would be doing triceps 3 days a week.. chest-shoulders-arms

  • lol with that range only keeps pressure on chest. after that point triceps take over and takes stres of chest

  • @ceeloc

i always wondered that too, but i think its because it keeps the muscle contracted throughout the set, just my guess.

  • dude got two cinder blocks by his neck.

  • ive noticed he uses a fairly narrow bench grip. wonder why?

  • Check out my biceps guys. I need someone to tell me what I need to work on. Thank you so much

  • However nice to see him grunting. Ronnie used to do that and hence, he won. Looks like Jay followed.

  • Not to be a dick, but I hate when guys literally throw the weights down like that. I don't care if subsequent comments come with the silly little negative in red to the right.

  • they cant stretch their arms... But the funny thing is... thi bigger you get, the more noise you make with the throwing of weights and dumbbells

  • 1MIN 30 SEC IS MY FAVORITE PART !!!!

  • **correction:

I've noticed that most of the top pros today DON'T do it.

  • @STiTypeUK

    LOOOOOL,good one dude !

  • hes the best bodybuilder

  • doesnt go all the way up cause it keeps the strain in your chest....u basically not locking out your elbows and letting your chest rest at the top..

  • damn hes massive...i think his forearm is about as big as my chest lol

  • im prity sure there tactics of building muscle work lol. spaz there motion lol

  • I believe they only want to work their pecs...if they were to straighten their arms that would work the tris also.

  • its so that they can keep constant tension on the muscle they are working and it is to protect their joints

  • hahahah he just throws the dumbells, funny

  • He trains sooo hard..deff deserves his olympia title..he put sweat and tears into that shit.JAY!!!!

  • This guy is mammoth, god damn. You gotta have some kind of dedication to turn into a beast like this.

  • they want to keep the tension on the muscle..

  • Because too much tension comes off the chest and onto the tricep. Ill be honest, Im 6'/225#... I do far heavier weight on many of my lifts, but Jay makes me look tiny. Why? Because the form they/he use is for bodybuilding, not strength. Heck Jay quit barbell benching anything over 315 because he can grow size/looks with concentrated lifts and focus/flex on the intended muscle groups. Thats not to say he didnt build a base with heavy reps, but he doesnt need it so much these days.

  • "Obsession is what lazy people call dedication"

  • because using that much weight would tear up your elbows and also they are avoiding using their triceps and trying to isolate their chest as much as possible

  • is the one of 10 great bodybuilders in the world but he have a perfect body

  • They don't use a full range of motion because when you're doing as much weight as they are, if you lock out your elbows when you bench you're putting too much pressure on your elbows and the chances of injury go up. Using a slightly shorter range of motion prevents this and still works chest as much as they need.

  • The reason body builders don't use a full ROM is because it takes the stress off the muscle. Body building is all about results not how much weight you push.

  • cuz thier damn muscles are so big that is his full range of motion

  • they dont lock out at the top because that can cause joint pains and also constant tension is placed on the chest if the elbows are not locked out

  • I wonder if all the grimacing we all do during workouts makes us wrinkle in the face faster, lol.

  • ronnie coleman, jay cutler and markus ruhl are the world´s biggest monsters

  • ronnie coleman, markus ruhl and jay cutler are the world´s biggest monsters.

  • They never go all the way up cuz of the 90° Angle. If you do that, it isn´t that much good for your bones.

  • full range of movement can damage the joints that is why when they train with heavy weights they will never full extend

  • @ceeloc

no one should ever go to full extension for all their lifts. If you lock your joints it creates more stress on the joints and it also doesnt keep the muscles contracted the entire time.

  • Who can tell me why is the spotter's face covered ?

  • @ceeloc....

I think Jay and others decrease their range of motion with some lifts to maximize the amount of time the specific muscle group is under tension...

It looks to me like jay's chest and tris are "under tension" nearly 100% of the time it took him to perform the set, which results in the greatest adaptation or benefit possible for the energy he expended...

  • the thing about body builders today is they look so dumb in regular clothes arnold was still small enough to look decent in regular clothes plus he looked better year round jay cutler looks like crap wjen he's not competing

  • I love you Jay, but theres no need to thourgh those weights like that!

  • bodybuilding is a hard sport

  • Nice !!!

  • Geez,

Jay is dangerous to be around. This man is throwing weights around like it was a tennis ball... :)

  • i agree ceeloc, some of them dont even use proper form (coleman again) but still can pull off olympia...?

  • Cutler is very well developed. He looks much fuller than he did in the 2006 and 2007 Olympia's. Also, you can tell that he's got lots of discipline when it comes to his training. Very strict form even if it's not "full range of motion".

  • you dont have to go all the way up, its the dip that matters.

If you trained you would know this maybe..

  • Full range = murder on the joints... and @ those weights.... it's like Jay says: joints are everything in BB if you take good care of them you can last a long time.

  • y he doesnt do a full rep he goes half way all d time

  • Because it called constant muscle tension as opposed to a powerlifting movement using full lock out. When you use full lock out more of your triceps come into play. By using a partial ROM its all chest.

  • because if you fully extend your limbs to the point where they lock out your taking tension of the muscle so the muscles actually get a rest between reps this is no good and it is also putting unwanted stress in your ligaments in your joints

  • it's because they are muscle bound

  • not saying hes wrong here, but i use a litte bit wider of a grip on incline bench, if i used his narrower grip, i feel way too restricted and cant get the bar down to my chest without my arms being all bent in

  • Never thought he would win it back. He deserved it though. It was tough competition this year and Jay brought it.

  • Is it me or has Jay f***ing eploded? hes even bigger now lol

  • never copy the pro's form!!!!!

  • wow 3 plates is alot of plates.thats like almost 400 pounds

  • It's amazing how he can get so big without using super heavy weights...

  • because celoc the last couple inches on the bench press is soley triceps and by not oging fully up u stress the pec more

  • good lord thats a big motherf'cker

  • what if this was the jay cutler who played for the Bears,. LOLOL epic

  • a lot of the pros quite frankly are too big to complete a full rep. The muscle is in the way. Others do partial reps to help keep tension and isolation on the muscle itself. Helps target a specific muscle group and really tear down the muscle by keeping it tense and flexed during 100% of the rep. In a full rep you usually have a point in the rep where you come to a rest (top ot bottom) depending on the exercise.

  • the greatest bodybuilder everrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

  • to isolate the chest instead of using the tricept to help

  • maybe its just because a lot of people doesnt go all the way up there and with the shoulders presses because a lot of people think its very bad to lock the elbow, same thing for the triceps on rope pushdown etc..sorry for my bad english....

  • Very good question. Can you eventually put on as much size when doing partial reps?? Anyone know?? And yes, Jay is HUGE!!

  • i always watch body builders training routine before i go workout. gives me great motivation

  • how come these pros never use a full range of motion? i noticed ronnie colemen doesnt either. Bench for example, he doesnt go all the way up.

  • Its a technique called time under tention. It cause greater stress on the pectorial major and less on the anterior deltiod.

  • it puts more stress on that part of the muscle, but they cover all of it in different excersizes. They basically break down the workout even more to focus more

  • constant tension... jay is usually jsut looking for a nice blood pump

  • Why would you? It's better for muscle hypertrophy because of constant tension on the muscle, and you recruit muscle fibers way more quickly. This sends important signals to your body. That's why people say 8-12 is optimal, because with this rep amount the last few reps will have optimal recruitment; max workout effect.

  • @ceeIoc It can have something to do with hyperextending the arms..

  • @ceeIoc , Because all that matters is whether your working the muscle or not. These guys proved that all that ''full range of motion'' talk is all BS for the most part. He doesn't go all the way up on the bench press because he is isolating his chest muscles and doesn't want his triceps to be included in the movement. Build muscle, not ego. As long as you feel the muscle doing the work, then thats all that matters. You don't need the full range of motion to build the muscle all the time.

  • They dont fully lockout the elbows to save from injuring their joints

  • Once they have amazing size, half reps will stimulate the muscle to keep mass.

Don't copy them, but they do parts of it right, never lock your elbows completely on any preses. And all these guys started out on 5x5 programs, they never got this size from these kinds of splits.

  • @ceeIoc

a lot of the pros dont use full range quite frankly due to their size. They are not very flexible and muscle gets in the way of a complete rep. Others do it for better isolation on the muscle itself..helps target the muscle when you keep it tense and dont relax like you would at the top or bottom of a normal rep.

  • @ceeIoc : he uses less triceps that way and more chest

  • How can you argue with Cutler, no 1 in the world, if it works for him and it gives him the massive pay cheques then who can argue!

  • @ceeIoc Since he's working chest, the thought that came to mind is that he is interested only in the range of motion that activates the chest muscles the most. Past a certain range, you're using your triceps much more than your chest, but he only intends to work chest in this vid. At least that's what I think.

  • When you lock out your giving your muscles rest, this way keeps the stress on the muscles for the full set

  • @ceeIoc

To keep the muscle under constant tension and make it appear more fuller.

  • well on the bench hes doing towards the begining hes just doing halfsies. works different parts of the chest

  • He's a bodybuilder not a powerlifter going all the way up takes the tension off the chest and puts it on the triceps, his goal is to make the muscle bigger not increase his 1 rep max.

  • the last quarter of the movement is tri's hes focusing soley on chest.

  • @ceeIoc because it keeps constant tension on the muscle actually being worked or trained...full range or none either way on this particular exercise it's cool

  • @ceeIoc

its a technique that does not utilize the full ROM.

by not locking out on bench for example, it keeps constant tension on the muscle group that is being targeted, chest for bench for example. that way triceps are not being used as much as well.

  • partial reps, they keep complete tension on the muscle. just a good technique. it works the muscle very well, and it may not be for everyone but it sure works good for jay ha.

  • They purposely dont go all the way up so they can keep all the stress on the chest. When you lock out, you shift the emphasis of the muscle stress to the tricep. They are trying to target chest as much as possible, while leaving the triceps out of it.

  • @ceeIoc ive heard pros say its cause full range sometimes makes your joints lock puts a strain on your joints thats what i heard maybe i heard wrong.

  • I noticed that too- maybe to save their joints or pump better?

  • @ceeIoc its called tension reps. It keeps the stress on the muscle you want to isolate. The lockout caused by fulling extending can damage joints. and with guys this big its just easier to do tension reps.
