  • Mediafire is better (200mb limit per file for free accounts/Unlimited Storage)

    Also try iFile.it

  • What about videos? Is there a specific folder to upload them to?

  • Windows 7 is available to download on:

    down load blinks . C () M

  • Today I installed offcie 2011 to my mac and it ok. I really love the feature of skydrive but it has a lot to work on it. I prefer way better google docs. Simple, easy and handy all the way.

But I'm happy windows is trying to keep up with them.

  • i think ive seen the guy at 0:15 in a p orn movie

  • @devfxz LOL HAHAHAHAHAH that was freaking funny after all the technical comments

  • Thank you,

  • These online storage facilities are risky... not to be trusted.

You're better off with a USB key for your own piece of mind.

  • Dropbox is the so much better! Referral below gives you an EXTRA 250mb:

Thanks for using my link :)

  • SkyDrive is okay, but the 2 features that's not added is the ability to upload multiple file folders and delete multiple files at once, and I would like to see these 2 features added in the future (I also use Humyo and ADrive, because they're the only 2 online storage providers that allows the uploading of multiple file folders. Makes my life so much easier). Creating various file folders in SkyDrive is, in my personal opinion, very tedious and exhausting.

  • what if the file i backup has a virus will it effect Microsoft (that be cool if that happen)

  • If only Apple gave free stuff like this, then I would actually like them. I still need to get my copy of Win 7 and graduate from yucky Vista!

  • I really do not see the point of 25GB free online storage when there is a 50MB limit on files.

I want to keep a back up copy of all my game disks and 25GB is just over enough. It is very tedious to split large files into 50MB pieces!

  • @Edge0fPain

    use mediafire then.

you have unlimited storage but each file can only be up to 200 mb.

  • Gladinet can mount your Windows Live accounts to a drive letter in your computer folder and you can access them from your desktop without having to go to the website. And it's free. You can view the files without downloading them first too.

  • i think it's very good that the limit is set at 50MB as to avoid those annoying pirated movie sharing people from eating up the site's bandwidth and thus slowing my upload. from my many observation, a lot of people use bigger limit size to upload and share illegal contents.

  • Ubuntu One is Better :D

  • @TreeRash ubuntu one sucks sooo bad!! seriously, only 2GB free storage compared to skydrive's 25GB! LOL

  • I Got A File Thats Kinda Big But Too Big How Do I Get it on There?

  • @RawheadRex16 There is a 50MB limit on files, so larger files will need to be split.

  • why make it web based? At least dropbox got a seamless windows integration.

One would expect microsoft to do something integrated directly in their own OS

  • n1 falo buceta nenhuma

  • 1) Don't forget to use the SKYDRIVE EXPLORER so you can add a "virtual hard drive" link right onto your PC!

    2) Or use IE8 to use drag and drop for multiple files.

    3) BTW, I have 22.8 GB left! I plan to use another 10 GB!

    4) I view all my Skydrive photos over my mobile phone on MSN Mobile

  • i ahv 24.6GB left!

  • I would appreciate, if I could use it as a real network drive.

  • buddlersen, I know it's been a while since you mentioned it. But look up Gladinet. It's a free app that lets you mount cloud services, like SkyDrive and Google docs as a network drive.

  • @arthmus01

Thanks for that hint. I'll try that. :)

  • haha you can... :D but you'll have to install a third party application...

  • total ripoff of mobile me. except there's no limit if you use an Airport Extreme Hard drive or Time Capsule

  • how do you delete everything at once?

  • Unfortunately that feature is not yet available.

  • hello

i thought wow cool online storage exactly what i need to save my data and get access to it when i travel or share with my sister

    but then: BIG disapointment:

why is the limit to upload at once set on only 50MB?

they guy in that video is talking about the foldercontent like favorites, fotos or VIDEOS

so how can I upload a video, if there is this tiny limit??

what for are 25 GB if you can not use it as a storage for big data?

    or is this possible?

    please answer to clear up

    thank you

  • now get rid of the maximum file size limit.

  • It's already been stated, but to upload things under the 50mb limit, right click your folder (that's not huge) and select add to archive (you must have winrar installed, it's free and extremely useful if you use the internet). Then upload.

  • Jamestown111 is right. Why in the hell give 25 Gigs, when the limit is extremely low. 1/5

  • I guess people would upload ripped movies, warez and stuff if the max size were bigger.

  • this thing sucks, max size of uplaod is like 50mb, microsoft sucks

  • is there any other company providing more than 50mb? google only allows 11mb

  • @firelemon

    dropbox

  • is there a way to use time machine to back it up on skydrive?

  • Hackintosh

  • also i have both a mac and pc and apple does nothing like this for free this is a great idea of microsoft and certainly puts them in my good books

  • I do love the i'm a pc sticker

  • I realy want a 'I'm a pc sticker'

  • Hahaha I have 2 on my Desktop :D !

  • I'm putting the prototype game on skydrive so I can own if I can get my hands on a powerful and windows os system

  • can i put wow on sky drive ?

  • you need a im a geek wanker sticker on your pc how uncool

  • I want 1 of those stickers!

  • realy thx

  • thanks :)

  • I don't really like skydrive since there's a 50mb limit per file.

And on another note, I have one of those I'M A PC stickers as well (a blue one)!

  • That will definitely be achieved by a more manually controlled OS. One thing everyone understands is how to move things around, and interact with their hands. Manual interaction is where things need to head.

  • It will be more productive. Much more productive. It's like that old idea:

"People shouldn't have to learn about Computers,

    Computers should learn about People."

  • I just think that we need to stop making hardware faster and work on making input faster.

  • I respect that. i hate when people are always trying to compare mac's and pc's, they're used for different purposes. and is windows 7 out yet?

  • What I meant was how people often write in shorthand to write faster. This is fun to watch. Go into a secretary's office and look at his notepad, it's practically illegible, but to him, it makes perfect sense, and is faster to write in his own brand of english. Plus, you wouldn't need a sad addition to Excel to write up mathematical formulas. Full integration of pressure sensitive pens should be the next thing up.

  • I think that physical interaction is definitely going to be moving forward. Computers need to be less about "sitting down at a computer" and more integrated into normal everyday life. I would think that handwriting recognition needs to be worked on quite a bit to aid in this, to help remove dependancy on keyboards which, to many, is slower than writing. Just imagine the user-programmable shorthand macros!

  • Computing is just about due for another paradigm shift. We need to stop looking at how to add stuff to OS's that already exist and start working on new ways to interact with computers entirely. The mouse and keyboard is coming up on it's 30'th birthday, it's high time for something better. Multitouch is nice, but we need a way to make computing more portable, without having to sacrifice power in the least. How do we do this? If I knew, I'd be the next Bill Gates.

  • I don't know if it will beat Vista's. It seems both companies are just going down the road of "Make crap transparent! It looks hip that way!"

In about 10 years, transparency is going to be soo overused.

  • I couldn't stand the Brushed aluminum. To me it looked gaudy. Attempting to replicate real materials and whatnot (like Mac OS 9's DVD interface) is so last-decade.

I absolutely love what Seven is. It's faster, looks better, and is more compatible with older software. It also has Homegroup, which is a Windows version of the Macintosh Zero-Config Bonjour setup.

  • It definitely is, and this is coming from a Mac user.

For quite a while I used nothing but Windows 7 for my day to day until I ended up needing quite a few Mac programs. It's a really great OS. Apple better hope that Snow Leopard makes a big improvement on speed or else the growth caused by Vista's failures is going to evaporate real fast.

  • They're using build 7000. Builds higher than 7000 weren't meant for public beta and don't have the "Send Feedback" button on it's windows' Title Bars.

  • i've had vista for a few months now and its working fine for me so far. but if i had xp it would be faster because you need more ram for vista :/

  • does it work for ps3 software?

  • My MSWord said:

    There are two ways.

  • They're using Windows 7!

  • really cool.

  • Kinda like apple idisk it cost money but comes with A LOT more features a defaultly has 10GB

  • SkyDrive comes with 25 GB :)

  • Windows pwns. But just as feedback I think you should go away from the guy showing the other guy. I think you should have a little more direct to the user, also I think some light background music would be nice as well. :)

  • oosah gives you 1tb

  • oosah? like i'm gonna trust that site not to shut down in the next 12 months. they already had to completely disable uploading for 24 hours or more since they cant deal with even their tiny amount of 'beta' traffic. if oosah is still offering 1tb for free in a year i might consider it a serious option.

  • being the first site to offer that much, others will certainly surface, ideas never get used once

  • Unless they're terrible... :P

  • well thats the thing, others will surface, whilst your important files are on oosah. I GUARENTEE if something happens to peoples files on microsoft's Skydrive, then there will be some sort of recovery effort or huge compensation.

but the thing is, is that Microsoft is sooo freaking reliable that that won't even happen.

  • not to mention i dont even know if oosah supports binary files properly, it certainly limits file sizes for media and various other stupid things. hardly a proper backup service.

  • it's easy to get around their rules, simply by zipping up your files and renaming the extension to another supported file type

  • cool!!!

  • i agree, and online storage of 25GB? who can upload that much files? it would take forever to download and upload

  • If u have dialup, lol.

  • to prevent piracy, say you wanted to upload a 5gb game to the public, microsoft has added a limit of i think 100 or 500mb per file, though that doesn't stop people for uploading in parts.

  • Upload size is limited to 50 MB per file.

    - SkyDrive

  • You like Vista get Windows 7!

You like XP get Windows 7!

  • I liked Vista

    I liked Xp

I LOVE Windows 7, got the beta :)

  • This can be very useful to me.

  • thats awesome, really good idea

  • yeah windows 7 is gonna be the bestt....
