  • what is all that talking about smoking ?? And gaming? HE is a classical musician so he should be a boring old fart??

  • i agree with you guys, hes amazng person, musician pianist, nice life he has,but i wonder, does he have family? i guess he doesnt and that makes him twice as happy cuz he cares just bout himself

  • atmosfera...unica...com'è magnifico deliziarsi su note così...suadenti...soavi...libere...pure...leggere...

  • Ahaha He don't want to study the piano!!!Is a genius and a very umoristic people...Good lucky for the life...

  • the left hand playin was totally crazy good!!!!

  • "There are so many interesting

    things to do in life!"

You are right Mr.Berezovsky, but please, continue also to play piano!:D :D

See your concerts is one of theese interesting

thing we( your fans )are doing!:D

  • man i really wish my left hand was more developed. it's nowhere near as good as my right hand... another annoying thing is my awareness/proprioception, which is much better on my right; i often have to look at my left hand for accuracy

  • what helped me was using the mouse of my computer with my left hand. because i have to work a few hours a day behind my computer I now have a good way to practice my left hand!

  • interesting....i'll try that myself..... although i don't think my left hand is a big issue..coz i play the violin...but still.....

  • @jcasbell do some Etudes for the left hands.. excute the Hanon etudes they are not too tough. :)

  • I do hate the way he can play that last etude without really looking... I STRUGGLE!!

Still, the man is extremely good. At least he's got better vices than pop "musicians".

  • id say he sweats so much coz of the smoking

  • This must take alot of physical dexterity in the left hand great technical prowess shown here.

  • genius save

  • he's very full of life that's all... and if he's sane why shouldn't he be a smoker? i, for example don't smoke 'cause i had a disease when i was younger... i smoked for about 1 year or so and then i realized it's not very wise if i'm sick... and about the casino thing, well, all of us have a little pleasure on this world... that's his pleasure... this guy really rulz !1!1!1!

  • Smoking, drinking, and lots and lots of gambling. Music, he says, is partly an escape from "money problems."

Must admit that is a great performance of the Chopin Etude.

  • um, wut is your deal? are u in like the sixth grade or something? it's great to see a pianist so accomplished isn't afraid to take some pleasure in life. u talk as though smoking, drinking and gambling are like the 7 deadly sins or something man u need to open ur eyes son. people who try to present themselves as polished and proper are suspect in themselves, and bring this stuffy, elite robotic air to the music they play. berezovsky pwns and he's like the cool uncle you never had.

  • we'll just ignore the effects of smoking.. slows blood flow into limbs (fingers are gonna be f*cked pretty soon)... increased chance of cancer.. heart attacks... stroke... why don't we all just smoke to be cool?

  • Smoking is connected to combustion transport and the design of civilization. Dead people don't drive.

  • I agree with the pleasure part, but lets really define pleasure. Smoking is for covering up B.O.., period. There are much better drugs than nicotine for inducing pleasure. And polish that mirror, say . . . the usual suspects Mr. Proper. There is proper food that eliminates excremental smell.

  • whereas i have nothing against the guy smoking, what you said was a load of shite :P nicotine deosnt induce pleasure, thats why no1 likes their first fag, your brain gets addicted and craves it, thats the 'pleasure' you speak of

  • I agree joe, yet for or against smoking is bad. It's me or you to decide those issues (for me or you respectively). I can object to breathing 2nd-hand. As a pianist chemist I spent 11 prison years having that decision foisted upon me. So I know this shit first hand. Pardon me. Substance is good. Careless use is bad. Good day.

  • well if your a chemist you obviously fully understand how nicotine works then, bit pointless explaining it to you :P

  • I don't dispute where you were going with this subsidiary issue, but in the lure of smoking angle and why the practice of smoking came about and not habit addiction etc . . . there is the reason why people do it, or question why. That is what I look at. Some say it's a nipple. It's a never ending list or reasons. I consider fire fascination and B.O. as well.

  • Just when you want to give up, along comes a genius like Berezovsky and this fabulous, beautiful, almost stunning documentary. It really tries to capture his "soul".

  • I wasn't anywhere near giving up when I rediscovered Berezovsky. I had an OKAY disc of his old performances of a couple Rachmaninov concerti, and I never really took to his Ravel or Chopin... then I got his new Rachmaninov concerti with Liss (INSANE) and WHAM BAM... blah blah blah... In the first part of this documentary he says he's in the height of his powers. I couldn't agree more. He has more technique than he can use, it gives him so much breathing room, it's ridiculous...
