  • Yeah :-D

Happy to be HK p :)

  • this film would've been an instant classic.too bad

  • So happy to hear him speaking his native tongue. Can you believe those fascist mainland commies are trying to outlaw Cantonese? I might be one of the last generations to speak this language!

  • @alphamale88888 He grew up in HK. That's why he spoke good Cantonese, but bad English. Back then, rarely do people ever speak Mandarin in HK.

  • conspiracy theory say he was murdered by rival clans

  • RIP Lee DaGa, You will be often imitated but never replaced!

  • He's been EYT, an television show in HK, to take an interview. We got many photos for that show but no sound! And there is one demonstration of kicking wood hosted by Michael Hui but also without sound. There must be some more surviving Cantonese interview, but no one knows where they are?

  • Though I wish he hadn't died, I'm glad the movie wasn't made. He was planning on having George Lazenby in the movie....GEORGE LAZENBY! ....The only noteable acting job he had was On Her Majesty's Secret Service....and that was relatively horrible.

  • Cinamatically speaking, sounds like he's influenced by French New Wave! Very postmodern

  • Wow, that was incredibly interesting. What made it work the most was the subtitle translation, plus the visual telling with the graphics. Whoever did all this should be commended for their endearing efforts using a basement production. This again was very very interesting. Thanks so much for posting it, we rarely hear Bruce speak chinese. Especially on an unknown project idea! This is kiinda up there w/Tower of Death or Silent Flute! Again thanks!

  • funny how they use pictures of the foreman from the big boss to stand in for the master

  • I have never seen muscles as nice as bruce lees.

  • 李小龙也撑粤语!

  • By NO MEANS its the Only Recordings Of Him Speaking Cantonese

  • Comment removed

  • @huntedrasta I think co-director would be more appropriate word

  • @huntedrasta yep, he directed The Way of the Dragon and his version of The Game of Death before he died.

  • this is not the only recording, he done few movies in hong kong plus lots of other interview speaking cantonese,. sheesh. Although this video is indeed rare

  • Back in those days, Hong Kong films were shot silent and dubbed in post-production, meaning there is no "true" original soundtrack. However, I do know that Mandarin was the choice for the "original" soundtrack, and that Cantonese dubs for the Bruce Lee movies weren't produced until the late 70's - AFTER he died.

  • what will this movie be call anyway?

  • I've seen Fist of Fury (the one where he kicks all the Japanese's asses) in Cantonese. I believe this movie is not dubbed, and Bruce Lee really speaks Cantonese in this whole movie.

  • yea i believe that this movie is not dubbed too...so his other 3 HK films was dubbed right? because the cantonese in there doesnt sound like him...

  • This is NOT the only recording of him speaking Cantonese.

Heck, we have whole movies of him as a kid and adolescent speaking Cantonese.

  • Wow, it is him. You can tell from his inflections, no doubt, that's the little dragon speaking here.

  • Actually he speak cantonese is not like nowadays Hong Kong people what they speak as the tone, nice and rare video thanks a lot for upload

  • ive been looking for him speaking cantonese for AGES..... i cannot express my gratitude to you in words.... omg... thank you sir, youve made many many bruce lee fan happy

  • those are dubbed by other chinese guy its not his real voice

  • yeah it is, i was talking about his old movies btw, the movies that he made in hong kong

  • you douchefuck, yeah it is

  • i have never found a cantonese version with him. which one do you have?

  • this is his real voice.

  • Yup lailum ! i agree with u. thx a lot LucasPicturesUK!!

  • this is rare.

    what tv program was this?

  • the plot is like one of those Zen stories....

Too bad he didn't have a chance to finish the film.

  • Hi, Marital Arts is fighting. It is human. It is Art. It from freeing yourself. to let go and control.

  • jeetkunedo is not a styal its a concept took out of wing chun. jeetkunedo simply translations to way of the intercepting fist. and the concept of it means your opponent strikes first but you hit first.

  • right but not compleatly right.

  • wrong. jeet kune do is the fighting system bruce lee evolved through modifying wing chun, western boxing, and finally fencing.

  • His description sounds like what he wanted for "the Silent Flute"

  • Comment removed

  • False, he did. It was his native.

  • Oh. i'm sorry i thought i said the Pierre Burton interview

  • waht u on about he did!!!

  • bruce lee > fedor

    2 billion agree 100%

  • why some people think about fedor!!!..who is this fedor?! brucelee is fenomena of martial arts, fedor is just champion of martial arts today... and tommorow anoher champion will come and change his place...after bruce lee no one will come...fedor has to go fuck and suck russia's primitiveness...in the west lived all great martial art masters and the west gave people all martial arts...that's all..

  • @ B4LANC3

They already have one. It's called "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story"

  • what was this being filmed?

  • It would be nice to see if someone decided to make this movie in memory of Bruce Lee

  • U know i read Bruces Biography Fighting Spirit and its says in there after he Bruce Finishes Game of Death he was going to make a film called The Seven sons of the Jade Dragon which was going ro be a shaw movie. n in the film Bruce was going to play all 7 sons and the father. And it says they were even going to make a film with Bruce Lee and Elvis Presley which Bruce turned down. I wonder wa that wud of been like "The King of Kung Fu meets the Karate King of Rock n Roll lol

  • AWESOME!!!Fist of Fury is my Favorite!!!

I've seen many doco's of Bruce but I've never seen this!I Love hearing his Cantonese, it sounds so pure and Original!!!5*****!and THX 4 posting this!!! His Lat's are Dragon's Wings!!!XD!!!

  • Haha, this is pretty awesome. x] For some reason the fact and thought that Bruce Lee spoke Cantonese, never crossed my mind.

  • Bruce proved that smaller man can always conquer bigger if he knows Martial arts. But how?To be sure, you must as he,to study and understand many things, secrets which doesn'n know ordinary man.You must so good, deep understand all secrets at last inside your style( those secrets iside your style masters didn't understand) and check it on bigger and stronger from yourself. Then you can be much sure that you will get it in combat.

  • Very true my friend.

  • Bruce studied 150 different styles,i reduce on 25, man!!! That is written in his book Tao of jeet kune do! Who can and today praise with that knowledge, after 35 years since Bruce died ?!!!

I still dont know that man today! And you can imagin befor 35,40 years!

    Tnank Lucas very much,again!

    gagi,Bruce Lee fan

  • bruce did not study 150 different martial arts..i'm telling you it with sencirity and knowing..he just read about it...he was not so stupid to study 150 styles because it requires a great deal of time!!! he had vingchun and later jeetkunedo it was enough to him to develope a one style rather than to study so many systems...i'm not imitator but i read approximately 200 styles and as result i understand that these systems are almost same and have few differences...

  • Have you read his books? No he didn't study 150 but he studied a number of styles including Kungfu, Karate, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, western boxing and even fencing (his quick attacks and lunges comes from there)

  • Good job my man, the way Bruce talks you can just imagine his voice in english.

  • dude, just listening to this i can imagine it's going to be very Jean-Luc Godard feel.

    1) man walking and singing then suddenly close up, someone talks

    2) continue singing, same thing then someone gets thrown out from somewhere.

    spontaneous and fresh

  • Bruce Lee in cantonese is the true nature of his soul

  • This is awesome.

To be honest you know how bruce lee will sound from the way he expresses and speaks his mind using the english language.

same voice...same expression. so no suprises here.

I choose to speak english with a chinese accent coz i am chinese.

  • Thanks for your comment man. Peace

  • awesome vid. i have been looking for some actual footage of him with cantonese dialogue. even my chinese version of way of the dragon is cantonese dubbed - wtf.

  • I don't think I've ever heard Bruce Lee speak in Cantonese... 0_0

  • Me neither

I've never heard about this movie he wanted to make as well. Did he have a title for it?

  • Those are Bruce Lee priceless "treasure"(for movie industry)....

    Thanks for upload.

  • sounds like he said gojira gojira

  • does Bruce speak english?

  • Yeah he did

  • theres no vid of it tho, huh? He spoke english like... as a second language or something right?? Thanks for answering

  • Yeah he spoke cantonese and english. He spoke English in Enter The Dragon and some tv series

  • One of his most famous videos where he speaks English is the interview where he says "Be water" and "finger pointing up at the moon" etc.

  • Wait, scratch that last bit. The "finger pointing at the moon" was from something else, got confused.

  • in green hornet he speaks nicely in english

  • duh yes, enter the dragon

  • he lives in san fransisco for many years and at that time he was one of the chinesse who can say britt rade clearly.

  • These are great clips. I have been a fan of Bruce Lee all my life and I thought I have watch 95% of all his clips and videos, but man, was I wrong. I think you probably have the other '5%'. Good on you.

  • Classic voice Bruce lee has got.

  • The Name Of Movie Is Southern Fist/Northern Legs.

  • is there anymore of the video?

  • wow great vid thanks for sharing. Bruce Lee did an amazing job directing way of the dragon, wonder if he were alive to day he would be up there with the great directors of today...

  • how did he die?

  • The offical statement says that he died from sweeling of the brain due to a bad reaction from a paracetmol type drug given to him by Betty Ping. However there is also the belief that he was murdered, there were a sequence of incidents leading up to the pill that finally killed him. RIP Bruce Lee he bday is coming up in 2weeks on the 27th of November

  • What film was he talking about?

  • nice job man

  • Greate and rare, thanks man.

  • super!

  • where did you get the recording from?

  • From my bruce lee archives. I have loads more rare footage, pictures & recordings coming soon. Sub to see them. Peace

  • wow first time ive heard him speak cantonese , cause even his cantonese films are dubbed... sounds just like when he speaks english nice one

  • awsome vidio man ty wow never heard bruce speak chinise before xD

  • I never new bruce lee could speak chinese until i saw this vid lol What is the difference between cantonese & manderin? Do you know?

  • Cantonese and Mandarin are two languages originating from Middle Chinese or "ancient Chinese". However they sound different because Mandarin lost tones (it only has 4 now), and they also lost -t -k -p -m endings to words (ex: the Cantonese word "Muk" becomes "Mu" in Mandarin. Cantonese, however, preserved these features. It is not simply a "slang" language. Mandarin is only official because more people can speak it in Mainland China.

  • Thanks man for explaining. Subscribe for more rare footage

  • well..u can tell he spoke chinese by the way he spoke english; it had heavy cantonese accent
