I'm currently rebuilding a '78 le mans and i am wondering whether the indicator for brake fluid level was really mounted as an extra light below the generator indicator... I've seen some original pics and it look a bit odd to me... can you confirm that position? regards, martin - austria
@sewyfisherman I can confirm the position of the brake fluid level indicator below the Gen light.. The warning light panel in this video is incorrect for this bike. I owned a mark one in 1979 and it had the small round red light at the bottom of the light cluster. they are difficult to find, I've been looking for one for a while. If you need any info about Lemans 1 send me a message and I will try to help you..
Nice bike. I have a Le Mans I too, and I live in Switzerland. Much more curves, much more fun here in the Alps. My Le Mans I now has 104'300 km. No clutch changed, engine not opened.
The sun is behind me, It is shining into the lenses and reflecting back, I can assure you the bike would not go far without oil pressure, watch as the shadows pass over the warning light cluster, you can see they are out, Thanks for your comment anyway.
btw...there is 5th gear on that bike :-)
