I remember watching this episode when it aired. Her death was a shocker. I recall the epsiode being boring and just another season finale until this car accident scene. I didn't see this ending coming at all. The first few episodes of Season 4 was okay with Ryan and Julie trying to find Volchok. Afterwards, I stop watching the show altogether.

this is stupid, that 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser would've kept both of them fine...SUV's flipping over isn't a big risk anymore...I had a 1989 Ford Bronco 2 when I first started driving (2002). YES i was SO sad that Marissa died but throughout the whole show they had this tragic love and I just thought it was interesting to really see how messed up Ryan became after her death. I don't think Marissa was boring. She was an interesting character. I liked how on the one hand she could be sweet, naïve and vulnerable but also very independent and strong when it came to fighting for the right cause or helping people out. I felt like it was right when she died, like she almost had to. She was so lost and fragile from the very beginning that death actually made sense. Still season 4 was crap, even though Taylor was funny.
