Thank You for this post, I will repost on a Detroit Transit History Page on Facebook. I did not know Transit Windsor still had a Fishbowl and this is a real catch! Thank You! RTS is now making a LF Bus again as well as the RTS Legend. Maybe we will see them back on the streets in Detroit.
@streetboyzinc: Sure, go right ahead. Also, this GM Fishbowl is actually the preserved bus; the rest of these Fishbowl buses have been retired including the 1984-85 Orion I buses.
@Nabinut: True, but however, the only buses you'll see from D-dot is the RTSs and the D40LFs including suburban SMART's Gillig LFs... Also, D-dot has its Fishbowl bus preserved when D-dot was formely D.S.R..
The colors on that bus almost fit right in for the old D-dot colors! Very nice catch! I didn't realize TW's Fishbowl or older buses for that matter still went south of the border anymore! Very nice catch!
@busrailfan: Thanks, I was VEEEEERY lucky to catch this bus because it was my only opportunity to film it and photo it. Back around February of 2008, I wasn't lucky to record and photo the Fishbowl buses because of extreme frigid conditions--which caused my camcorder not able to function... Btw, D-dot also preserved its GM New Look when D-dot was formely D.S.R..
Wow great catch I didn't even think Transit Windsor still had GMC Newlooks.Hmmm 32 years old and still going strong im telling you when it comes to city buses the GMC Newlooks are one of the best buses ever built simple non electronic engines none electronic transmissions and built to last. Notice how many brand of buses have the GMC Newlooks have outlasted over the years.
@MAR1NAB5180: Thanks! I believe these buses were kept and were properly maintained for a long time along with the MCI and some of the remaining GM Classics. Many of the Fishbowl buses owned by Transit Windsor were retired years ago including the 1984-85 Orion I buses(DD6V71N+MT-644) so I believe this GM Fishbowl on this video is probably the last one in the fleet... D-dot also had its GM Fishbowl bus preserved when it was formally D.S.R..
Now we're down to Woodstock, the last system in Ontario with New Looks.
