@aut0turret what were you put in jail for just DUI once? if all of what you said was true which im sure it is, then it sounds like whatever person has been put forward for that controlling job over you, he is a psychopath. if he's treating you like a drug addict or an outcast prioritising some 'meetings' over your actual job, verbally demeaning (interrupting e.t.c.). over distorted punishments ie miss one meeting get locked up in jail. you're dealing with someone on the psychopathic scale.

I will continue to try to lead my NORMAL life, I think my punishment has well ended since I left jail. I will continue to drink socially. I will not let A.A. get in the way of my career. I'm sick of the Spanish Inquisition every month. Probation officers do not ride horses at work, regardless of much they think they do. Please think about the innocent lives of those you affect when you decide to be a probation officer. Some are real criminals. BUT MOST ARE NOT, SO STOP TREATING EVERYONE THE SAME
Things I've done: Paid over $7,000 in fines, did 30 days in jail, twice monthly drug testing, monthly counseling, and monthly probation visits. It's been over a year now and they're still relentless. They've done flipped out and made a huge deal that I drank. YES I DRANK. So does everyone else. Typical response: "you're on probation." Failed response. Missed 1 A.A. meeting, threaten me with jail. The system is corrupted. I do not deserve anymore punishment. They just keep at it and keep at it.
I have no respect for the probation officer's job. I will respect you as a man, but that is all. If your lot in life is to punish without any real idea of who you're punishing, or if said punishment is deserved or goes to far, I do not, and will not ever respect your job. The typical response to this is "Well don't break the law." but some officers take punishment too far. I tell my P.O. I got promoted and can't make it to A.A. meetings. He doubles them. This puts strain on me and my career.

I found out it was a coke dealers daughter calling the state troopers on me every time I would drink at my neighbors. And now I got pulled over and charged with possession of a weapon, it was a 2ft long metal rod behind my seat. I wont even be able to pay 4 a lawyer cuze my grama has cancer and these pills she needs are pretty expensive. who knows whats next.

And they will repeat. Upon the first conviction, they have a criminal record, and as such no longer have the prospect of well paying, respectable employment opportunities and they go into a survival mode and steal, rob, sell drugs etc. even more.

People are on probation because a judge didn't think they were dangerous enough to be put in prison. Just so you know, probation relieves some of the debt put on the state due to prison costs. If a person isn't that big of a threat or seems deserving of probation, why not put them on it?
