  • Beautiful Belly! :)

  • Sounds very much like early Jewel from "Pieces of You"

  • The b-side version is even more perfect, with Juliana Hatfield on backing vocals.

  • I forgot about this song, but yeahh i still love it, i like to get fckd up when i listen to this songg <3.<3 so relaxingg n shitt

  • reminds me of san fransicsco and the heroin addicts in that film wish they made a sequel of it

  • @mufcrulesable Search for black tar heroin 2004 update and you can find out what happened to them. Also, google "malice mcmunn" and she's the hot one from Seattle who rode around high on her bike. Hope this helps.

  • @reiko082 The "hot one from Seattle" has a name, and it is Alice.

  • @g0tmike correct, well done.

  • just one of the all time best albums, "sweet ride" is GREAT.

  • I'm not 100% sure about this, but wasn't this just Tanya Donelly on KRCW?

  • Wow, im so glad i found this song, this is the exact acoustic version on the documentary called Black Tar Heroin, it was taken in the mid-late 90s, fits so perfect in it.

  • @5150afx the song fitted the scene perfect

  • I wish they would do one of those VH1 band reunited things for Belly.

  • A dear friend of mine suggested this song to me & what a wonderful gift~

    OMG I absolutely LOVE THIS!!!!

*I'm down for a sweet ride.......so follow me down,

once was lost now I'm found...this is my dream....*

  • i love her voice man Amazing <3<3

  • @HewzyLFC she has the most fabulous tone to her voice. My biggest regret is not seeing belly live

  • I actually made a horrible mistake clicking the one star button. I clicked wrong! Sorry Tanya!

  • I have a copy of this song from the Gepetto EP and I think it's also on BabySilvertooth album.

Where could I find this acoustic version?

  • @rebeccaelfrosine - this is from a compilation called KCRW Live and Acoustic or something to that extent. I performed this at a highschool concert. back in 1998 :)

  • does anyone know what's the album name?

  • Gepetto EP

  • ...which is a Japanese import

  • this was a b side on like, Feed the Tree or Gepetto or something and I remember being blown away wehn i heard it. All these years later I still am! Amazing. Tender and Brutal.

  • Very well put, "tender and brutal."

Belly was one of the most under-rated acts of the 90s. Tanya really sang from the depths of her soul, and you hear it.

  • Thanks Isnows. Both Star and King were awesome, creative, beautiful records and you're totally right, they are a woefully underrated band who never got an ounce of the recognition they deserved.

  • first song i learned to play on the guitar. this was unfortunately cut from belly's debut, star. a damn shame.

  • tanya take me what a song. sweet ride take me i'm yours.

  • Wow! anacard you are my new hero/heroine...this is completely off the hook!

  • First I've heard this song on 'Black Tar Heroin', a documentary by Okazaki... which you can find on youtube... quite a lot of great songs there. Well, in short - my next step was getting all of Belly's music. :)

  • That documentary is right fucked. If there's anything that makes me fear that drug any more I have yet to find it.

  • thats where i heard this too :) had to look it up.

  • Marijuana.

  • Such a stunning voice

  • at a guess it's about drugs, really good song the electric versions good too.

  • Great! Im her new fan:)

  • Does anyone know what this song is about? It sounds sad.

  • What a sweet song. Thanks for posting this version. Donelly really sings with her heart.

  • probably about drugs...sound like a trip

  • Awesome! Not exactly pretentious :)
