There really is no debating whether she has lost much of her vocal capabilities. I guarantee you will be hard pressed to produce a recent performance that was any near as good as any of these. I've seen Ms.Carey 3 times in the past 8 years. The first time was ok but the last two were heavily lip-synced and pretty bad when she actually sang. It saddens me to say but the voice just isn't the same....nor is the ability. I'll still see her again the...Let's face it, she's Mariah Carey.

It is unfortunate that this vocal splendor will last only about 5 years and that she had a lot of vocal technique. Xtina on the other hand is a natural singer without any musical education that Carey took as a child. Today Aguilera's voice is better than ever, after 12 years of experience. Me personally grew up with none of these artist, I'm growing up with Christina Grimmie, but both of these singers are amazing, to me it seems like your trying to show all of Mariah's pro and none of her cons, Mariah has some things she can't do and Christina can, for example, Christina oversung at the beginning of her career, while Mariah sometimes her voice sounds tired.

Mariah's technique is a lot better than Xtina's, allowing her to do more with her voice. But I think Mariah's voice is also a lot more interesting than Christina's. Mariah has so many textures and tones to it, whereas Xtina always sound the same.
Sorry but Christina Aguilera does not have five octaves. She has four but if she keeps misusing her voice, she won't have four.
As for who has the better instrument: well, Mariah Carey can sound like a grown man and she can sing like a bird and do everything in between. Sure, aging and nodules might be kicking it but she can still sing people off the stage.

She can't transition well so she couldn't go from chest to whistle like Mariah does here. She can't do any of this.

You're just gonna have to deal. Streisand's voice maintains an almost perfect even scale throughout her ENTIRE range. The registration and coordination is top-notch, unlike poor Celine and Christina, who have to scream to get their pinched little voices to produce volume. With Streisand, the resonance and the overtones come POURING out.
Oh, and she's one of the BEST interpreters of all time. Christina and Celine not so much.

She strains on 4th octave notes so there's no way she could sing E5, F5, and F#5 effortlessly like Mariah does here and she could never do the melismas Mariah does here. She can't transition well so she couldn't go from chest to whistle like Mariah does here. She can't do any of this.

You're just gonna have to deal. Streisand's voice maintains an almost perfect even scale throughout her ENTIRE range. The registration and coordination is top-notch, unlike poor Celine and Christina, who have to scream to get their pinched little voices to produce volume. With Streisand, the resonance and the overtones come POURING out.
Oh, and she's one of the BEST interpreters of all time. Christina and Celine not so much.
