There are different interpretations, not just for this song, but for all songs. But the meaning would outrightly display itself when we faithfully follow the score. I beg to differ, there are different pronunciations to the song. You can either sing it in new french pronunciation or old french. So unless you are french and live during Debussy times, i don't think that's a fair comment.
