Ah Ron. I like this song so much better when you sing it and you know how much I love harmonicas :) I've just taken a quick dip into youtube tonight. What a lovely surprise to see this pop up in the related videos. I miss you guys xxx
it's great to hear from you and this song really grabbed me when I first heard it and it still does now..... But then I can say that for all of your songs that I have heard. We have not forgotten you, you can be sure of that. Your friend, -Ron
Hi Ron, yes I remember this Ruby cover very well. It was in late fall 2008, wasn´t it? I listenend to it very often, because I really loved it. Very good still and a good decision to upload the song on your alternate channel.
Yes this was from that time period. I was into harmonicas, mandolins, and funny haircuts back then apparently haha. Thank you for your very nice comment. Greetings back to from USA. -Ron
Almost missed this. Is it old because you look a bit like the young fellow in your earliest posts? Nice harp, folkie pickings for the mind to imagine simpler times while listening to it; maybe you would've done as well in the early sixties in the Village as you would've in the seventies as an art rocker. I can see you playing along with Doc and Jean. The song needs praising too of course. Great period piece style.
@CurtisMateer I don't know if you had met Ruby when she was active on YouTube. You would have liked her songs a lot, and she is from Australia as well :o) Hopefully she will let her inspiration again. NIce that you mention Doc Watson and Jean Ritchie, both of whom I had the pleasure see live, up close and personal many years ago. Have a great evening Pete. -Ron
@BoeckmannLudwig Hi Bernd, thank you. I am putting some of these older covers back up here on this channel, especially those great songs by my friends. I wish you well from USA. -Ron
I do admire all this song writing going on here on youtube - I can see why you liked this one, Ron! Really nice performance of it as well - hard to beat arpeggio picking (for me), and the mouth organ fit in nicely. 8o)
@ImOfTheWoods Hi Sylvia, thank you. I really like the way the harmonica can add substance to otherwise bare performances. Ruby is a great writer. Thanks. -Ron
Ron, you did this one so fantastic and I'm sure your friend Ruby will be so proud of this great cover from you... You did a great job! All the stars*****
@duckscli Hey there Duncan, I am putting back up a lot of the blasts from past on this channel right now, many of which you were my partner in crime :o) Talk again soon. -Ron
