I really like this monitor. he looks nice and fit, due to having lots of room to excersise no doubt. I just got a baby BT last Tues, but shipping was hard on him from CA to WV. he's just now livening up and going crazy for big crickets! He'll have his own room also and still not enough I rekon. I love them. What a cool species!

I am really considering getting a black throat, breeder near me just had some eggs, are they worth it?? Are they fun n stuff. Wish my dog would leave him alone like yours, he is a big mean boxer, just keep them separated. How big of cage would you need for adult monitor anyway, 40 gal??

Dude, I would have to fold him in half and teach him yoga to even fit him in a 40 gallon. Sparti has his own room in the house and makes use of every inch of the space..... Do not make that investment lightly. He's a great boy, but not exactly low maintenance.

I agree...forget the watchdogs, burglers know how to handle them. I have a houseful of 20 iguanas and the biggest, Goliath, doesn't like strangers in the house. He goes after everyone, considers them a threat to me and my stuff (which is his stuff)! He'll run at you and bite and all the others get into the act. I'd like to see a burgler break in my house, and get attacked by 20 iguanas!

Well.... He uses more hot water per week than I do, I don't buy furniture unless it is semi claw-proof and he has more places to sleep than anyone else in this house. Basically, I am his servant and warden all in one, but I wouldn't trade it.
