@lukessummerguitar maybe practice high up on the neck(cause theres less tension up there and it's easier to bend those notes) and use your 3rd finger of your left hand with your first and second fingers lined up behind it(for more strength). And slowly and deliberately bend the string up slightly and let it back down. After that it's just a matter of getting the right speed. The best sounding vibrato to most people's ears is wide, slow, and deliberate sounding. No more shakey, fast vibrato.
Vibrato on guitar is created by bending a note up(almost to a half step up) and then back down to the note.
When people are first learning vibrato on guitar they usually make the mistake of GOING TOO FAST. In your video it looks like a really fast shaking movement.
@lukessummerguitar - Ah...you're Irish! That explains it! (j/k) Thanks for not reacting with anger toward my sarcasm. Now I feel guilty! I subscribed to your channel. You have real talent!
Yeah, the Les Paul neck pickup and then twiddled about with a treble booster till I got something that sounded half right!
And you're correct, I loved putting this together - I could sit for days just reading scores for Brian Mays Guitar parts ( It's sad, but I love it..Ha ha!)
That sounds really lush, which is a compliment in Wales - not sure if the word lush means a good thing in every country but it was a really good sound - and lush!
Yes Paul, we use lush in the same context here in Donegal - although our American cousins have a slightly different usage of the word "A Lush" (There are a few of those in Donegal as well!)
No, I used a transcription, so apart from any out of tune bends and clicks and pops I may have made while recording this, it is exactly how Brian played it on the original.

what kind of distortion pedal do you use??
141nacho 9 months ago
@141nacho
I used the "Vox" amp setting in Guitar Rig 4, then just added a treble booster pedal and messed around till I got a sound I was happy with.

This really is "killer"!! Nice work! I've watched this one several times over the last few months. You must have had a blast learning and playing it!
Again, I'm curious what variax model you are using. I'm guessing it's a Les Paul in the neck pickup position...?
