I am guessing you already graduated, in that case congratulations, if not and you are still working on the "Wall screenplay" then some context would help a lot , I understand the part about the divide between both "worlds" rich and poor - using the word world here loosely- but where is the conflict what are you trying to achieve.

Hi Salma, The idea of poor vs rich or multi ethnics, although good n rich in content, but has been used a lot, i think you need to handle it different. US is perceived as the land of opportunity, every one can peruse his dream and make it come true, BUT is it really true, the answer is NO, because of the Big Barrier Wall, that can be seen in the culture gap, different education, Health system, Poor states vs Rich ones, ....
well 1st of all the wall on the rich side looks nice. if u c the wall on the israelis side it looks nothing like the wall in palestine. the wall on the rich side would have plants hanging and on the rich side they have nice clean highways. on the poor side the wall looks depressing, has some graffiti art. some that looks professional and other that looks like a kid made it.

I dont know if you are going to read that or not, but you can use this wall as a conflict between the two stratas.....like what if all the poor are suffering from the ruthlessness of the rich and they want to destroy it to make a one poor company in which all can live peacefully with shared conditions, and the rich want to destroy the poor coz they dont deserve living and the rich should make use of the poor land to increase their investements.

There is already a hypothetic wall between all the races in the US. You will find a boundary between the white people, and the African Americans, the white Americans and Native Americans, and Again white Americans and Hispanic Americans. Lets move to another race, Asians in America built their own boundary, and they built their own rules between them . So it is not new for the Americans to have a boundary, but as you said they need to touch it.
I like your idea. The rich people need the poor people to do the crap jobs in their community, like cooking, cleaning, etc. They need to allow some poor people who want to work to get thru the checkpoints to do these jobs. There has to be some interaction between the two groups because of this, and make a story based on some interactions, such as love story, crime, etc.

Hi Salma, The idea of poor vs rich or multi ethnics, although good n rich in content, but has been used a lot, i think you need to handle it different. US is perceived as the land of opportunity, every one can peruse his dream and make it come true, BUT is it really true, the answer is NO, because of the Big Barrier Wall, that can be seen in the culture gap, different education, Health system, Poor states vs Rich ones, ....

well 1st of all the wall on the rich side looks nice. if u c the wall on the israelis side it looks nothing like the wall in palestine. the wall on the rich side would have plants hanging and on the rich side they have nice clean highways. on the poor side the wall looks depressing, has some graffiti art. some that looks professional and other that looks like a kid made it.

your idea seams to sound similar to "Banlieue 13" a french movie that does this whole poor and rich thing... it's a movie that you should check out, maybe it would give u some cool ideas for your script
it's not a very deep movie, mind you. it's more of a pop corn action flick! still a ton of fun =)

How about something really different, make the poor guys are the bad guys, and the rich are the good... the rich are outside the poor walls, trying to get inside the walls to offer "Enlightenment", but the poor politicians are stubborn and fighting with everything they got to keep their chairs, while the poor people themselves hate both their politicians, and the rich...

I dont know if you are going to read that or not, but you can use this wall as a conflict between the two stratas.....like what if all the poor are suffering from the ruthlessness of the rich and they want to destroy it to make a one poor company in which all can live peacefully with shared conditions, and the rich want to destroy the poor coz they dont deserve living and the rich should make use of the poor land to increase their investements.

seek on Google for a novel for Auther Ahmed khaled Tawfiq called ( yotopia )....it takes a place in the near future with similarity to the story lines you mentioned....the story or it's online review at least shall help you....good luck smily :)

There is already a hypothetic wall between all the races in the US. You will find a boundary between the white people, and the African Americans, the white Americans and Native Americans, and Again white Americans and Hispanic Americans. Lets move to another race, Asians in America built their own boundary, and they built their own rules between them . So it is not new for the Americans to have a boundary, but as you said they need to touch it.

I like your idea. The rich people need the poor people to do the crap jobs in their community, like cooking, cleaning, etc. They need to allow some poor people who want to work to get thru the checkpoints to do these jobs. There has to be some interaction between the two groups because of this, and make a story based on some interactions, such as love story, crime, etc.

Hey Salma, i really like ur work specially both (antkhabaty, and egypt my mother).
Also this one's is very nice, & i think u can use the old racism actions like having some restaurants (cinemas, retails ..) for some people and forbidden from others, on scale of students some get assistance from professors & others not, also families get benefit from using purified water other families don't ... ya3ny those are some ideas and if i got anything else i'll send it right to u.

بالنسبة للتفرقة العنصرية تقدري تستدعي القوانين الأمريكية القديمة زي ما كانت: مكان مخصص للسود في الأتوبيسات, و ما إلى ذلك
الثقافية أصعب لأن دايماً الناس اللي بتختارها, سواء من الفوبيا عند مجتمع الأغلبية, أو من انعزال الأقليات (حفاظ على هوية,...)
