Ive been looking for this for a while. The supermarket scene was the Panorama City , Ca Hughes market. Used to shop there every week, it was refreshing to see so clean and new looking. I'll have to watch TCM as it will probably be on again soon.
Just watched the movie on TCM, what a pleasant and charming movie to watch. It was before I was born...lol but what I loved about it is that it was a clean and descent movie reflecting the times of the golden age. Did anyone see the scene of the supermarket? buy 4 for a dollar!
These houses were in a new tract off of Valley Circle & the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley. Look at that 61 Dodge Polara in Silver. That was a car! Janis was gorgeous. This should be on DVD
WTF is with disabling the audio track? If this clip is posted in violation of copyright, why not take the whole thing down? There's no music heard here where publishing or performing rights would be an issue. What kind of legal nitpicking says the picture is OK but the sound is off limits? This is just friggin' STUPID.
OMG, look at that 1961 Chrysler. There must be enough sheet metal in that beast to make five Toyotas!
Janis Paige was a beautiful, funny and talented actress who seemed destined to play supporting and second-banana roles throughout her film career. Well, I guess not everybody can be a big star.
Great quip about the Chrysler. And I agree with you about Janis Paige. Just found out she was a good singer (she was in the original cast of "Pajama Game" on B'way.) Too bad she was never given a chance to sing much in the movies.

Janis drove a 61 Chrysler Conv Bob's car is a 61 Dodge Polara. Lana turner drove a 61 Plymouth Fury Conv. MOPAR was a sponsor obviously.
