Dolphins are generally curious...it's not the same as "friendly". They are wild animals and have instincts like a wild animal...

...my question is this: What did you hope to achieve by slapping the water above its head? What did you think was going to happen? Like I could understand stopping and letting a dolphin get close to you if you were in the water and a dolphin was following you...but what you did made no sense lol.
