  • That is a beautiful field! WIsh there was a place like that near me.

  • Nice video. I wish there was more clubs about to shoot at.

  • your in the UK shooting a 7.62?! I'm from the UK and would like to know how? thanks.

  • @thatkindofguy234 actually its an 8mm which is more powerful (yay)

Am going to send you an email

  • I have a K98k that does just about the same as your rifle. First 5 shots were nice and tight. as the barrel warmed up, the group opened up. But that is still great shooting. Keep it up.

  • how much is 600yrds in meters??

  • @satanic666sonic you have the internet use a converter

  • @jubbles2343 tooooooooo lazy. gonna look it up later....nice rifle though. you only have bolt actions??

  • @satanic666sonic 600 yards = 548.64 meters

  • @satanic666sonic About 600 meters, the distance is negligible really...

  • Nice to finally see someone on youtube who actually aims before firing his K98k :-)

  • what weapons is standard in the UK?

then i meen modern weapons like german sauer 200str or anchutz. have something like this?

  • the sa80a2 is the standard british rifle but it might be changed to the hk416

  • i meen whats the standard in the shooting sport. not what the military have :P but thx anyway norwegian standard is sauer 200 german in shooting sport but in the military its now hk416 well soon ^^

  • the slow part was the coolest thing ive seen in a long time lol

  • what is better a mauser k98 or a lee enfield? Meaning accuracy

  • @Pinguing1 from 0 to 400yds a mauser is more accurate, however beyond that point an enfield is more accurate

  • @jubbles2343 if the sights are set up for 300yrds then how can they be on at 600yrds or vice versa

  • @jubbles2343 if the sights was setup for 600yrds it will hit the target every time

  • @morts18 the ammo was shooting high, different ammo types will change how the rifle will shoot, if you have the same amount of energy pushing a lighter bullet its going to drop less than a heavier one. hence due to the fact that the iron sights are fixed you have to just find the appropriate setting for the range.

  • @jubbles2343 yea ammo does change the accuratey i know i was jus saying that if u shoot at 300yrds and the sights are on then u shoot at 600yrds the sights will be out

  • yea my dad had a Mauser but it was the M48 Mauser i thinks its from Yugoslavia not germany i love old guns grand ect i have a shotgun licence but thinking of getting fac

  • @jubbles2343 Unless you put a scope on it ofcourse, then the Mauser normally outperforms any WW2 rifle at ranges above 400 meters, esp. if using period ammunition. Germany being the only nation out of the four major powers to issue boat tailed ammunition during WW2, greatly enhancing long range accuracy.

Fit a scope to the Mauser and buy some 198 gr PRVI partizan FMJBT ammunition, consistently hitting human sized targets at 1000 meters will then be quite easy providing you're a good shot.

  • @bellator11 Hi there bellator I won't be scoping it because in general I dislike all sporterisations, were I able to find an original scope and mount then perhaps that would be different. In general I have found that the Mauser beats other rifles out to 400yds but that the enfield beats the Mauser after such distances to 700yds. I have yet to be able to compare the two at longer ranges but I believe that the barrel fluctuation of the mauser may be responsible for the

  • @jubbles2343 loss of accuracy beyond said range. When using boat tailed bullets in my .303 I have not noticed a significant increase in accuracy, I have found that many others concur, I do not use ammunition of the time though as there is none left and its rubbish. I personally don't like privi partisan ammunition as I find it to be under powered and to have highly varying velocities so I tend to use handloads, never fear though as I will be going on a big shoot soon so we can compare the mauser

  • @jubbles2343 Hi Jubbles, there are two reasons you're not improving much with heavy rounds when using the Enfield:

    1. The no.4 was never tailored to shoot such heavy bullets. 2. You're shooting through open sights, which will never yield consistent results at 500y and beyond.

The K98k on the other hand is designed specifically for firing heavy projectiles of 190 grains or more, the barrel featuring 4 grooves with a 1 in 9.45" twist rate, providing maximum stability for the projectile.

  • @jubbles2343 and don't worry about barrel fluctuation on the Mauser, it's a none issue = that you shoot tighter groups at 400 yards than the Enfield only goes to proove that. That you're having problems beyond that range is simply because you're having trouble being as accurate with the V notch sight on the Mauser as compared to the peep sights on the Enfield, which is quite normal.

Anyway keep up the good work :)

  • @jubbles2343 I can recommend watching pintofshite & Mag30th's channels as-well for some very long range target shooting :)

  • wow lol eat guch

  • Such a wonderful gun :-)

  • i love this gun

  • It's good to see my UK brothers still shooting across the pond. Keep yer powder dry and hello from Texas!

  • Norway here. i am at the sshootin team. i got mauser and a norwegian krag jorgensen. its not so wery used longercos its a new rifle at the top. sauer 200str. german. howerver i have not tryed to shoot with a mauser but i am waiting to try it.:)

  • i found the mauser lost its accuracy drastically after 400yds have you found the same thing?

  • well i think mauser isnt so accurate after 400yds but it fire wery accurate into 300m :)

  • i wud love to do some shooting like this can u contact me on my youtube channel about some general information e.g location etc

  • please inform me if i have or havent contacted you to get you into shooting

  • Wow, jubbles. Just an American speaking here, but I really appreciate that our European friends are able to go out and shoot, too. Nice video.

  • thanks mate i might have to show you how real shooting is done some day :)

  • how do you have a rifle in the UK??

  • easy I went to the gun shop and gave the man money for the gun I wanted :), gun laws are hell in the UK but it is possible

  • that easy huh? well i just gone one mines a 1937 i love it, such an amazing rifle.

  • well its easy to get the gun when you have the license etc but its stupid really, things like having to join a club etc etc

  • well at least you didn't let that stop you from shooting.

  • I love this weapon 5/5

  • was yours made in Berlin? cuz mine is a 1941 aswell haha

  • i love the unique 8mm sound =D makes me wanna jump for joy dude =).

  • good shooting mate.

  • i love my mauser.anything within 400 yds for me is dead.greatly accurate

  • How'd you manage to do all that in the UK, don't you guys have pretty strict gun laws? I feel bad for you guys about that, you guys need a 2nd Amendment!

Nice rifle, looks like it shoots great. I wish I had a 600 Yd range nearby! Nice vid, nice rifle, and nice shooting stance. Well done!

    US Army

    NRA

  • man like me doesnt mess with around :), the laws allow for it so i push them as far as I can hehe

600yds is happy days 1200 is a real challenge with iron sights

  • At 1200 yds (or even 600yds) the front sight blade covers the whole thing lol. I'd like to try it, I never do any military shooting at that range, and I certainly don't do any personal shooting at ranges like that either, but looks like a good time!

  • what is the factory code on it?

  • whats your ammo, .308 (7.62mm) or 8mm (being 7.92mm in real life)

  • I can barely group at 200, but then again I was shooting while it was raining out in the latew evening, and not during a nice freezing cold crisp day.

  • I must say. That was some excellent shooting.

  • Hi, the k98s are good rifles too. I had a G98 but the barrel was to far gone, bullets were keyholing. Anyway I got rid and bought a Snider with the proceeds! That also shoots like sh1t too but I still have that!

Good luck with ur Army application.

PS what range were u shooting at?

    Kniferest...

  • kingsbury range, wish i could get a G98 but they are very rare i think

  • is yours an RC bro or original?

  • it is an original not russian capture mauser

  • I like the Enfield. I would prefer to take that into combat than any M16. One shot brings them down. Mausers and Enfields are classics in a class of their own. You would not happen to have a British Webley or Bulldog revolver to test fire?

  • I would take both :D , the M16 is a good gun

  • I am just a Yank from Louisiana. I have been eyeing one of these rifles. I am a history major and I am a hunter. I prefer a vintage over a modern arm anyday. especially a rifle that is the standard for all other rifles. the Kar98 rifle

  • Personall I prefer the Lee Enfield, more accurate at 600yds, shorter bolt pull, smoother action, higher capacity, less recoil and far cheaper

  • I prefer the 98k for its light weight.

  • Im in U.K too, and have 2 k98's, what range you at, I shoot at Barton Road and Thetford Gallery

  • kingsbury is one of the many ranges i shoot at

  • cool, i prefer my K98 without being biased . I can hit almost anything with that, can I ask what ammo u using and what setting did you have your rear sight on when you got that group at 600yards ?

  • I think it was Czech surplus, and I had to set the sight far lower than the actual range, at 300yds for example it was set to about 180m and even at 600yds i had to set the sights lower.

the mauser lost its accuracy at 600yds though, it was pretty hard to hit anything, I got some ok grouping bu tdue to the mausers barrel flex it just goes innaccurate where as a looser action ike the enfield keeps it accurate

  • Thats differnt to mine, I used privi partizan 198g, I shoot from 100 - 300 with rear most setting (100 aim bottom black, 200 poking it up the arse, 300 bang on middle) 400y setting is 350m, 500 is 450m setting.

600 yards i can still hit, past that my eyes cant take it !

I do find mausers more accurate than any others, but thats me

  • have you actually tried an enfield? very very good guns

  • o yeah they are, smle's, n04's, i found p14's come closest. All good !

  • Nice shooting. Its called barrel whip not barrel flex. You need much better ammo than surplus ammo for shooting out to 600yds. Where did you learn how to shoot?

  • I really enjoyed this along with #4 Lee Enfield. Very well done. Not all suplus is crap.I shot LC M118(1968) yesterday in a match out of my M1A and it shot well. Not bad for 41 year old ammo. Also, Greek M2ball we get for CMP in the US is pretty decent.

  • modern surplus ammo is good but eastern block ammo is gernerally not amazing

  • hey what does your k98 have scribbed on the reciver ? mine says byf

  • Comment removed

  • Is this a Russian capture?

  • no it is not

  • Is it all matching?

  • yes

  • Its a shame that you guys let those socialist labor party assholes take your guns away. Of course the picture over here is not looking so good. But I sure wouldn't like the idea of having to walk around and try to collect firearms on behalf of the government and at the same say: "Ok Mr. & Mrs. AmeriKa you will just have to trust the government and give us your firearms." This would be suicide. For The Collector's That Is.

  • mine is a code DOT 1944

  • Finally someone that can shoot properly on YouTube. Very good trigger control, and positioning of your shooting hand. You have to get rid of the surplus ammo though. Its not very accurate and or clean. Again good shooting bro. Nice clean rifle to.

  • its true surplus is rubbish, but then again look at the accuracy the rifle achived with it, I would say the fact i used surplus in this case is a credit to the rifle :)

  • I shoot 8mm Romanian surplus most of the time, it's far superior to the Turkish surplus.

  • What letter code is your mauser? I would like to get my hands on a mauser even though if it is not a german one.

  • nice vid jubbles those old mauser's are fun to shoot . they are a good action to sporterise as well

  • Been a while jubbles. Excellent shooting, never thought I'd see the day where you would shoot the K98, something still tells me it will never take you away from your beloved Enfield no4 mk2 lol

  • your right :) but i felt i was putting too many rounds through the enfield

  • U have to start making handloads for that rifle i can literally put them through the same hole with hand loads with my k98 the Germans really knew how to build a rifle. Whats the code on it?

  • That's one nice gun!

  • Looks like an russian capture ?

  • its not

  • Got a new gun? ;)

    That's awesome. I've got a German K98 too.

  • i knew this vid would make you happy haha you've always told me to get one :-p

  • is a club gun though

  • It doesnt have one

  • my 2nd fav rifle.

  • Gotta give it to the Germans, they know how to make their guns. Or to the English who knows how to shoot them? XD

  • they go for about £280

  • Does this mean you're divorcing your No4 Mk2??.......or is the K98 just a bit on the side!

  • bit on the side

  • Five Stars!!

    Happy Easter

  • I'd really really like to know where, when and how much this kinda thing costs! I'm a bit tired of airsoft and I also need something a bit more accurate than clay pigeon shooting so this looks great for me. Any details? websites? phone No's?

  • will send details

  • Thank you :) Don't know if where I live is a problem or I may be real close to it. I live in West Sussex near brighton/worthing/findon in the south downs.

  • sent you PM

  • nice shooting really nice rifle

  • yea!

  • Going german now? :)

  • nein

  • Nice is this the new gun then? 5*
