I used to watch this when I was like 6 or something. The other day I recognised the animation from a FG sketch and typed 'cartoon therapist quivering lines' into google. So glad I found this back.
@seblasian yeah um iwas about 17 so i enjoyed more than you it was the shit man and the animation was it back in late 90'sfukn cool as, they purposely made it liney so it could show emotion more in it's characters,. lets face it the 90's kicked ass, x-men, melrose place, aeon flux ruled to, you should look that up to.Way better than movie version.
@ThePhil909 Actually the cartoon was made this way (it's called squigglevision) because it was cost effective. The creators of the show couldn't afford to do regular animation for a cable series.
@Reyelee um yeah i know it was called squiggle but what some of the creators said about it is that this squiggle thing turned out to be real effective for showing emotion to the already sensitive characters.I love it and glad they didn't have the money, simple is best 4 me. i dont rate any of the thin artwork now eg; xmen evo is to thin but back n the 90's X-men the original series was with great depth of character and better drawings.I think this thin thing came from the asian artist who sta
@ThePhil909 I love it too. I not only like the animation but also the way they ad-lib and freestyle the comedy. I think Home Movies was done the same way. I wonder if Bob's Burgers is done in the same comedic style...
@Reyelee lets face it the 90's ruled big time man n yeah love the home movies thing to, it came late to n.z but enjoyed it n the early 00's, got the dr. catz program early tho n the mid 90's to 99
I love rediscovering tv shows and realizing that voice actors I love were in these old cartoons. Like Jon Benjamin, Mitch Hedberg and jonathan Katz. Katz and Jon have almost the same dynamic they have in Home Movies
@cjones345 ...U...u wanna talk about that? How did Ben make you feel? Were you happy whenever you saw him on the tv screen? Hmm.. *writes doesn squiggly notes on squiggly paper with squiggly lines across my face*
Jon Benjamin?

Improv? this isn't scripted? sweet
TheGingerlocks 2 years ago
@TheGingerlocks
The show did have scripts, but most of the non-guest material that wound up on the show was improvisation based on the show's outline.
brahimdrunk 1 year ago 2
Is this whole show improv?

I believe the scenes that H. Jon Benjamin and Jonathan Katz does are unscripted material. I'm not sure about the rest though.
