I'm only listening to you because I can't find a JP version of this on you tube. As 'pleasant accidents' go this is one of the nicest to happen to me for some time. Thank you. I'll check out your other postings.
@MrEclecticity Glad you found the video and thanks for the nice comment. I don't think I've seen another cover of this song here, either. I play lots of Prine songs :) If you're interested, I have a couple of JP playlists on my channel that might save you some searching time.
I am working late these days to be able to go on a longer holiday with a clear conscience next week. I am playing my YT favourites at random in the background without watching but now I had to press Alt-TAB to watch you, Bob. Your strumming hand again... Have I told you whom I would choose if I had to say good-by to all my YT-heroes but one?
Well, there, now you have it, let me get back to work :)
@Zsolto66 I hope you were very busy at work so that the time passed by quickly for you, if you know what I mean, Zsolt. I thought all of Euro was on holiday in July. I guess I'm just another ignorant American :-) Also, I hope you are enjoying your time with your children these days and I hope your daughter's hiking trip went well for her. Well, here I am awake much too late again. Have a great holiday.
@kmfmgk Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. I've been a JP fan for a very long time and perhaps you have, too. This short song has always meant a lot to me.
@chaitaiji2010 John Prine's first record album was released in 1971 and he now has about 16 or 17 albums to his credit. He is an American national treasure in my opinion. Thanks for the compliment on my fingerstyle. This song has always been very meaningful to me. ~cb
@thistorontoguy Thanks a lot! Whenever someone asks me which of Prine's albums is my favorite, I never have an answer. I can never pick just one. Best wishes, Canadian neighbor.
@OHMYGORDIE Thanks for watching, Gordon. I'm glad you found me :) You have some really great music production on your channel and your singing is awesome. Oh, and I saw your version of "Come Away With Me" there ,too. Nice job. I learned a solo version of that one last December. jugnutgut2? I'll have to check that out.
@stufish4040 Thank you for watching, Stuart. It seems that Ron has many YT friends that are willing to check out his interests. I really appreciate that. I visited your channel and I am quite impressed with your video production abilities. Good work.
@LONGWINDING Danke, Frank. I appreciate your comment very much. I visited your channel and I have to tell you that your playing is truly amazing. Also, I have a young friend from Germany (one of my son's best friends) who is also a musician. His name is Nik and I have a couple of videos of him on my channel from his visit here last summer. I am always pleased to make YT friends from Germany.
@reliablebow Thanks a lot, Michael. Yes, that's my seagull. It's an artist mosiac model with a cedar top that I bought new in 2006. Actually, I own 2 more seagulls. One is a mini-jumbo with spruce top and the other is a 12 string I purchased very recently (but don't tell my wife). I bought them both used. Thanks again and thanks to Ron.
@1catbob When ever I'm checking out guitars in a shop...i end up playing a seagull mini-jumbo...My Guild is a Beauty and love her Low end...the seagull always comes and nestles right up close too in that respect....Love seagull guitars!
@rhopen Hi Ron. Thanks for watching. I bought my copy around the same time and still have it (packed away now). I wore out Prine's first record after about a year but was given another copy by someone who said there was only one good song on it :-) Oh, and thanks for passing along my channel to some of your other YT friends.
@TanteA : Thank you for watching my video, Anette, and for the nice comment. You are very kind. This song was written a long time ago by John Prine who is one of my favorite musical artists. Oh, and thanks for subscribing to my channel. - Bob
Wow, this is fabulous!!! I just subscribed and must now go listen to your other John Prine covers.***** (Yes, I know that the stars thing doesn't work any more...)
@jordanthecat : thanks for the sub, Jordan, and the nice comments. I "found" you before and YT but then lost you so I'm glad you found me. Will return the sub.
Terrific guitar work and singing, I liked this a lot, Bob. And your Seagull is also nice, this is the first time that I can see it from such close range. I like to watch the instruments during a performance.
I have 2 Seagull guitars and like them both. The reason I shot the video with the guitar in view is because, just like you, I like to watch the instruments and different playing styles.
