drill now would NOT benefit oil companies because supply would rise and thus prices will go down. The oil companies are having a field day right now because of the limited supply. Look at the revenues of exxon mobil last quarter - the biggest ever in history - all because supply is limited and future oil is being bid up.

Because MOST of our oil will still come from overseas and even then the price of oil here would still be competing with the world market price, not the American market, even the very small increase in supply which would hit the market in about ten years would have a VERY small affect on price. An indicator of lowering demand would drop the futures market prices. Alernative energy is what will reduce demand, not increased dependence.

We need to get OFF Oil, PERIOD. In 6 years we can be Totally of ALL Imported Oil used in transportation. The answer is BIO-FUEL from Algae.

Algae can also be used to capture fertilizers in runoff from farms and filter water for fish ponds. 2 million new jobs in a cleaner almost zero carbon renewable energy program...that will also in 15 years rid us of Coal Powered Electric Plants.

You not only skipped my question about Gingrich's contribution to excessive partisanship in our politics (which I hoped to use to make a video), but you even asked him a question about why he's so NONpartisan as to actually talk to (gasp) Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. You let one of our most partisan politicians portray himself as a "red white and blue" nonpartisan :-(
