@MP5A3SD Cut and weld on the 14851, Another guy has 14851's with stock piping so your uncle needs invest a little more time into his opinion. Search this Magnaflow 14851 - Audi A4 1.8T (B6)
I have the exact same car, same year and everything and I wanted to do an exhaust mod of some sort. My uncle, who is a mechanic, said that it would be impossible to put a weld on magnaflow muffler on this car, because of the way the stock mufflers are welded. He told me I would have to get the whole cat-back or I couldn't do anything. I'd like to know more about those mufferls. You said MF 14851, but I was wondering if they were welded on or clamped on. Also, was it done professionally or not?
Hi quick question? What do u mean by custom, I know it's a magnaflow muffler I'd their other part attach to it. Thanks aging for that great video. I would love to get same set-up.
lol i just bought one for 6k, 1.8T 6speed manual, dark grey, 110k miles, all in perfect conditions :) clean carfax... and thats the setup im going with im a bigfan of magnaflow, and i have had it in a 033 1.8t before and it sounded just the same!

@LILGIO0502 its custom, meaning it was custom made for this car, meaning only he has it, get a local shop to make you one, he gave u the info, up to u to make it
@bruny43 oh, right on. at least you did your homework. I've been finding a lot of 90k and up ones here in LA, so I've been waiting it out till I find the perfect one. maybe 60-70k miles. I want to make sure the seller hasn't done the timing belt so i can get the car for like 1500 or 2000 bucks cheaper. good tool for bargaining.
Hey whats up man i'm looking into getting a 03 audi a4 1.8t the thing is that its automatic do you still think its worh getting for $8500 with 120,000 miles>? thanks for your time and awesome car you have!
not true. late 03 models up to the early 05 models (right before they switched body styles in mid 05) all came with painted lowers. 2002-early 2003 all had unpainted lowers.
@eatn121 those unpainted bottoms... do you know if they're a different kind of surface than the normal body? like.. if I were to paint it, would it be rougher than usual car body feel.. it's just, those lowers really look rough to me and unpaintable, then I worry about having to buy a whole USP kit.
Can somebody explain to me how this 2003 has the normal painted bumper? I see a lot of 2003 A4's for sale WITH the grey bumper/sideskirt style, what is the deal with that? Do I need to get an aftermarket kit if I wanted my bumpers the same colour as my car?
you can paint the lowers, ive done it along with MANY others. you have to sand them first obviously, which would make them smoother than they are. prep is 90% of the paintjob.
@eatn121 I did a shitload of reading, I now know that the USP's have blades and sportier bumpers/few other goodies... way worth it rather than having to sand, paint and buy blades. only part which sucks is finding a 6 speed 2004 USP for a reasonable price. :/
the b6 S4 are the V8 340 hp ones compared to the V6. its not the 01-05. it's 04-07 i believe. I just bought a 04 S4 black on black cabriolet. i love it
no slapshot591 was right. for the most part. b6 on the A4 refers to 2002-2005 models although some 2005 models have the 2006 cosmetic facelift due to a package option. B6 DOES refer to the generation of the model. Just like E36, E46, and E96 are consecutive generations of the BMW 3 series
to answer your guys questions...they are magnaflow 14851 mufflers with 4 inch tips. I am using a testpipe to the stock downpipe then to 2.5" to the Y then two resonators and 2.25 inch piping to the mufflers
Damn i think thats the best sounding 1.8t out there!!! I just got a 2004 1.8t and deff want to get an exhaust but i'm not realy a big fan of german 4 cylinder engines the way they sound... what kind of set up do u have?

i messed up...the split for painted/unpainted was in 2004. this guy must have had his painted to match...which is not uncommon at all.

what is b6??
achilles88 3 years ago
B6 refers to the generation of the car. all models of the A4 within 2001-2005 are considered to be part of the B6 production.

B6 is the chassis type.. In europe all the cars from 2001-2004 is b6 all 2005-2008 is b7 and 2009- is b8.. :)
The audi a4 b6 shares its chassis with cars like the Passat.
