I would say that they are that desperate. There was a full trainset of sounder cars on one Metrolink in the Station. Financially, Metrolink is doing very poorly.
So I hear your friends saying their was derailment that kept this train waiting for six hours. Did you find out what caused the derailment or is it being investigated?
I think you misheard the radio. They left the derailer on the track they were parked on open because they were right on top of it. They just forgot to close it after they pulled away. As for why they stopped for 6 hours, I'm not sure.
