Yea man loved my 99 got in a crash :( but in the works of fixing it but I'm workin on gettin my 04 to we're the 99 was before its crash I. Gettin ready to paint my car this spring and add some kicker 2500 and also 28 inch tons I ordered should be here next month can't wait lol
@Yngdady Well you had a choice but it was determined by trim level. In 2000 all base Intrepids came with the 2.7. ES Intrepids came with the 2.7 or 3.2. R/T's got the 3.5 HO. My 3.5 HO came out out of a 2000 300M...all 300Ms in the US came with the 3.5 HO.
You can go to LH forums if you'd liek to see a 300M face on an Intrepid body. There's a couple of them. They look good, but I'd just rather save my pennies for a 300m Special. :D
@Yngdady Intrepid R/Ts did yes, but my 3.5 HO came out of a 300M.
300M Special engine the same engine, but would be more difficult to make work since `02+ engines don't have EGR tubes and there are other differences. The power bump is thanks to the PCM, which is only a few horsepower.
As for the 300M front end. I've seen it done, it looks cool. However, If I wanted a 300M nose I'd just buy a 300M. ;)
Hey Hanyou I never did do that engine swap but I decided to upgrade and got a 2003 ES, Silver with all black leather and sunroof. Man the power difference is definitely apparent and I love the stock chrome wheels on the car. The car only has 50,000 miles on it.
@hanyoukimura Thanks, you know I never realised how fast the stratus r/t from mexico is. Most of the videos I saw it smoked all its competition. Even the r/t and srt charger lol

I still have it, haven't decided what to do with it yet. Still in good running order but needs the waterpump and timing chains done before it can go in another car. I may l keep it and do just that, or sell it (I'd prefer the former).
Wow, looks like the swap went silky smooth. Where were you able to find an engine to swap? I have the 2.7 and I'm interested in possibly swapping but trying to decide if it's worth doing. Thanks.
Yep it went very well. I got mine from a junkyard, the 300M it came from had just come in (it was totaled in an accident), so it was still hooked up and I was able to hear it run.
It's totally worth doing because these are nice cars, and the added power is very nice to have, really gives them a lot more get up and go.
Sorry man I got one more question for ya. Would the door panels of a LHS fit in the intrepid? Is there a reason you didn't take the door panels from the chrysler 300m for your car?
Yo Hanyoukimura I'm just about to purchase a salvaged 2001 Chrysler LHS for about $2000 bucks. Has black leather interior in excellent condition and the engine has 50,000 miles on it. If I can get him down to $1500 you think its worth getting. also How much did you pay to have your mechanic do the labor for this complete engine swap. Thanks man. Also how do I get the Odometer gauge out and into my trep. I really like that look, and where'd you get those rims :)
Lol I mean 18 inch rims

last question, did u change the ecu? because internet says the 2.7 one will work. but i cant find one. and i got the engine ( the 3.5)
ectrojan44 1 year ago
@ectrojan44 Yeah the 2.7 ECU (PCM) will work with the other engines.

did you change the ecu??
ectrojan44 1 year ago
@ectrojan44 Nope, still using the 2.7 PCM.
hanyoukimura 1 year ago
Dude you should drop the 2.7 into the most tiny car you can squeeze it into it would be damn quick ha
tonodagreat 2 years ago
@tonodagreat LOL that'd be a fun idea.
