Horn hooks are way better than knuckle ones. I can never keep my knuckle cars hooked together for some reason.

@TommyBNSF i kindof disagree ...the knuckle ones are great ...you just have to make sure you use the right ones....

Knuckle couplers are a pain, at leas tith horn hook couplers you can use a dental pick to get the cars uncoupled without de-railing them

@raymondleeleggs I aggree with you on that. I love how Walthers Gold Line series rolling stock usually comes with horn hook couplers as well as the knuckle couplers. Easy transition but the best knuckle couplers i have seen are the Kadee couplers. They also make a special tool that is like a shunter's pole that easily uncouples stubborn couplers.

Nice stuff!  I have that same csx hopper in "N" scale. I bought a pair of atlas trucks with the acumate couplers already on them to put on mine.

The next time you go to your hobby shop, ask if they have any of the trucks with acumate couplers already on them. The all ya hafta do is change the trucks on your car.

thanks, that hopper was really nice i was kinda mad, i have heard of that shop but ive never been there
