The alpha one has a bad design in the locking system area, it has a very weak "bottlenecked" piece of steel where it should be extra strong. That's why they discontinued the Alpha One series and released the alpha Two in the first place (then alpha three)
I just ordered a PF Alpha Three Desert, I have high hopes for this monster knife.
@Prowler1 Yes it is with some distance the most "beastly" knife in my collection. FYI I am also interested in Pohl Force's much more EDC-able smaller brother "Bravo One Outdoor".
I've come to your reviews via BritishBlades forum. I don't think your review for this knife is too long in the intro. It adds a certain suspense and build up. And that's quite a knife! Heh, you even have a wonderful comment from the maker himself!
Hope that the summer in 2010 will be hot enough for the BBQ so you can bring it out.
Great review, I admire you pragmatic approach to choosing a knife. At the same time recognizing that coolness of handling a fine blade for which there is scant practical use. "... can't help but grin..."
@MrDagon007 just stay the way u do the revieuws,. thats one of the things that i subt to u,i like to know of the back ground of the knifes.keep it up.
just found this review on my Alpha One folder. Excellent! I am very much impressed. You really found all the design aspects which I worked into the knife. Thank you very much.
Brevity is a good thing, but, and this is especially key in your style of videos, don't skimp on the background and details of why a knife is the way it is and what role it plays in life. Now then...not hugely attracted to this particular knife, but nice review.
Hey, are you selling this knife, i mean if you used it it won't be a problem.

@chibraxial A weak lock, really? Do you have a pointer to more information on this? I must say that mine feels very solid.

@teyacapan Most of the other knives in my collection are much more "gentle". This is a stupid-grin-inducing exception ! And, totally indestructible !

beautiful monster :)
if your ZT will survive us & our grandchildren & 2 nuclear wars,
than it looks the Alpha One will survive the cockroaches surviving humanity & the alias that will inhabit the earth, afterword :)
really make me smile only looking at it :)

It's true.. I think I gave too much initial background here. I think my style improved in my later reviews!
