An 'expert' would have climbed a steep slope the other way round with boom extended behind as a pusher - better weight distribution, more stable, boom can be used as a pusher and, if the worst happens, it'll prevent it tipping over backwards.

lol all he had to do with the font part of the tracks on the dirt was turn the boom around to the rear lift it up drive forward some and if needed to push the boom out a little while going forward to keep from tipping .

I think that's what's called a practice hill :P

It's a bit more of a struggle when you gotta boom out properly 2 or 3 times to properly track up, On a digger that size I'd expect the track motors to pull the thing up. Or a sensible operator to flick round some dirt. Either way I've been up steeper on bloody 3 ton dumpers and tractor trailers.

there is flat land opeators and then theres the "other"type of operators the "can do "guys alll this guy needed to do was push a little dirt back and walked right up that little bench i agree with boyee on this I work at ski resorts where its steep as a cows face and theres always rock and if it rains or snows.....i got rossignol stickers on my hoe for a reson :-)

Man it says in the discription this drivers an expert then why @0:27 does he pull in the stick this wuda been 10 times easier move if he'd filled the bucked put the stick right out tracked up the bank with the stick out in front weighing him down! or evn turn round goup backwards and lift himself with the boom, also i noticed he was grading with the back bucket tecqnique wich is what learners do!!
