Although I can understand the teachers' intentions, I find it alarming that so many people received it as an assignment in school to be further analysed. Not because it spread like a virus among educators (:P), but I'm sure there are other better examples to be used for educational purposes, less disturbing.

if you guys are confused on this film then basicly this is what happend, this is a supernatural thriller film, and the supernatural world is the virus because amber was watching a recording of her friend dieng because the virus sent the email through her adress so when amber watched it she would die to and then the virus would send her death to all of her friends and so on and so on.

Naww mate, See Amber originally recieved the 'Virus' from a friend, so the webcam automatically begins recording when its downloaded, and as you saw towards the end the Virus is resent to everyone on Andrews contact list, so everyone who views the video will see Andrew being killed, and so on and so forth...

are you answering the question 'to what extent is 'Virus' conventional of the horror genre?' well, i looked at settings, camera shots and angles, character types and storylines... and then concluded... because horror movies are never set in office blocks... but there was blood... so just say what you think.. theres no right or wrong as long as you back it up! :)
