  • hockey fights

  • whos Celtic here?..watch>>"Eluveitie - Uis Elveti "

  • I ain't seen to many moose in a while that one was a beauty

  • With moose hunting I perfer the 30-06 with the silver boattail bullet. the bullet will travel 200 yards without droping. Also you should have a scope with undersights. it works well on moose under 150 yards.

  • My uncle and I got a nice bull moose near cutknife Saskatchewan, scored a direct hit through the spine with a 8mm Mauser dropped him like a ton of bricks.

  • I loves gettin on de high spots and lookin at the cunt-ry.

  • nice bull

  • we used a 375 H&H Winchester pre 64 action, my favorite. The moose was hit thru the heart on the first shot but no sense in trying to save ammo, just keep shooting!

  • @jalainsmith 375H&H Wincheter pre 64

  • This is J. Alain Smith and this is the first time I've seen it, nice. Say hi to Vince and the bi's, eh? Great hunt together. Book sales are super and i have a new one coming out in mid August, a novel with hunting in it! go to my web site for more info.

  • @jalainsmith hello, nice to hear from you..the book you sent vince is really nice some great photos in there as well..I had heard a couple of the stories from you already in person..never forget you saying "quite your whining ya wimp" when i found out Renee wanted a full body mount haha..you can give it as good as you take it..the pics and some vid of her hunt are on my page check it out..400 yard shot on her moose you were right shes quite the gal...Thanks again ..enjoy your adventures

  • awesome huntin! im from englee newfoundland and we gets moose down ere alot!

  • I just realized these guys are not wearing proper hunting clothing. Your suppose to be wearing bright orange so other hunters don't mistake you for something else.

  • @jsmallwood2007 hahahah

  • Beautiful animal and good shooting. I cant wait for the fall again :D. Where was this anyways? I know in Newfoundland but were exactly? I'm from down around Hr. Breton and the area reminds me of home.

  • @kylem2904 Thanks...kind of get a kick out of the wackos comments actually ...not their fault they grew up like factory farm cage fed animals themselves and don't know any better...The reason I leave their comments up is so people who know the difference can pity them :-)

  • Me & my dad were moose hunting in Ontario & we were walking down an old skid trail. My dad happened to cross a fallen tree & snapped a large branch & let out a grunt. Down in the swamp we could hear a moose start grunting back & stand up in the water. It started to run up the hill grunting& smashing branches, ready to fight. We hid in the bush & he came 10 feet away from us. The bush was still to thick to get a clean shot so we just watched. What a day!

  • nice moose hunt. Don't listen to these morons, if they had any idea what it feels like to have a monster like that coming close to you & you get it in your cross hairs. Keep making that exciting trip to the grocery store. Have you ever seen a video on what they do the poor pigs & cows that are slaughtered for meat. Shooting a moose is so much more humane then what they do at them slaughter houses.

  • good size bull, i got a tag this season but couldnt do nothing with a severed wrist tendon.

  • OMFG you MONSTERS this is my fuckin favorite animal and you monsters i have plenty more but you fuckin take it out on moose my favorite animal when there is a fuckin grocery store where there is cow pork and chicken meat here a little advice go get some

  • @101020sarah you will be really sad to know then that they just increased the number of moose tags by 3000 and extended the season to try to stop the overpopulation and moose vehicle accidents here lol

  • @jsmallwood2007

I thought a careful hunter always took a point-blank "insurance shot" on downed dangerous game and never, never approached a downed ungulate on the side of the hooves. What's the saying? "It's the dead ones that get up and kill you"?

You might try working a few good Elkhounds into the program and let them do all the work.

  • @pinz2022 All old Pros here....we do the "eyeball" check on animals that are destined to be mounted like this one rather than blast an unneed hole in the cape. Everyone was quite aware to stay out of range of the hooves..Thousands of hunts experience between the guides.. This particular hunter, Alain Smith ,has written books on hunting dangerous game..(google that, great books) lol.....for a novice its the safest way to go your right, we were well aware of what we were doing.. watch again

  • @jsmallwood2007 also remember this is done real time with the camera angle in mind..not recreated like half the hunting shows on TV :-)

  • @jsmallwood2007

I checked out the Alain Smith Website and I will be getting his first book as soon as I can. He can write alright. Though the site is a bit cagy about how he made his fortune while he was still young and vigorous enough to hunt the wild places. When I once saw a confiscated stuffed Alaskan brownie on display at FBI headquarters during a tour I always wondered if some guides are ever tempted to turn down certain clients because it's too damn obvious that they're crooks.

  • @101020sarah have u ever seen what happens at slaughter houses? Hunters r 100x more humane than ur friendly old slaughter house! For pigs, they take a rod that shoots a bolt into the pigs brain. It dies slow, shaking & squeeling till it finally dies. What happens to cows is sick. Chickens are boiled alive to make the feathers easy to pluck. Still think we are monsters for shooting moose? If all meat was provided by hunters animals would suffer alot less!

  • @AbCuMmER yes yes i do you monsters

i feel terrible about those poor pigs, cows and chickens but moose they dont deserve it i know cows etc dont but moose are my favorite animal and they get hunted for no reason when there is other meat you can eat even though i even feel horrible about eating those poor animals.

but yes i think you hunter wh hunt moose are monsters i dont care what type of death anything goes through its still cruelty to hunt them for no reason

    sickos

  • @101020sarah, there are People out there who are doing far worst things to their fellow man than what theses to hunters are doing in this video.

  • @101020sarah oh so only the animals that arent on your favorite list are exceptable for hunting. moose are alot healthier and less disease then cows. and maybe depending on the community a person lives they might not be able to afford to go to the grocery store every weekend. you probably live in the city with all the amenities because if you dont your dumber than I though.

  • @AbCuMmER plus like you care about those poor animals

  • thats me uncle vince! nice vid

  • Awe man cant wait to move back On sunday. :D

  • OMG.....now that's a bull.....I'm going to drink a beer to that....cheers

  • LOSER NEWFIE's must kill everything that isnt' human!

  • @purpleyes88 lol you know nothing about Newfoundlanders(or the over population of moose here for that matter) except what a bunch of wack jobs tell you...come visit is my response to you girl.

  • @purpleyes88 LOL i love that comment its funny

  • One shot...that did it!!!

    Great looking country...

    Cheers

    Bern

  • good shot

  • Must have taken a while to butcher that.

  • takes about the same amount of time to bone out as it does to cape, so with all of us working on it took a little over an hour before the packboards were ready to be loaded

  • Captures the essence of moose hunting pretty good I think...hunting in tucks like that is a pain in the ass!

  • Good job on the video. Almost felt like I was there.

  • Did you get any of the Wayans' brothers? They're all over Canada. There are packs of them

  • i bet it was a bastard trying to drag it out unless you got the bikes like the by's on the nl sportsmen show

  • we boned it out and packed it to the lake...was only about a km from the lake

  • whe is it at??

  • area 39 on the long range mountains Newfoundland

  • thats the beauty of fly in mountain hunting with experienced guides . . In fact we don't even allow the hunter to chamber a shell till we clearly locate and identify a good bull.orange is not legally required here .... we "stupid hunters" sure stalked close to that bull lol...now put on your orange gear and go climb a tree and wait :-)

  • jees man do you have to be a downer, i think those orange vests are just for americans, in canada we are sure of what we shoot at.

  • yep!

  • u dont really need it if u in a spot that ther isnt many people hunting

  • nice vid and nice hunt... that is sure a nice bull... i got my moose yesterday in area 8... it was about 200 yards and a one shot kill.. the moose never took 1 step.. my moose was not as big as that one but we hunt for tasty meat not antlers... nice hunt and nice vid.. good job guys

  • what gun were u using and congrats on the big moose what area were u at?

  • cant remember for sure the caliber...moose management area 39,hunting with moose Country adventures...filmed another great hunt yesterday actually..two more weeks Guiding left with that camp yet i'm just home for the weekend right now :-)

  • u should put it on youtube XD

  • it's in the works...waiting on a second camera angle from one of the Hunters..Check my channel in a week..I just got home again and now checking emails

  • Thanks for posting

  • which calibre was that?

  • that is a cool moose. Here in wyoming they are more black but i like how this bull has lots of brown! it took my dad four shots to kill his bull as well. perfect placements but moose are not little.

  • not the cleanest kill but i know how hard they can be to take down good shootin

  • think he was done first shot ...shot looked good, good placement ...but better safe than sorry...takes a min for those big guys sometimes

  • Great hunt video!!

Let's see Obama do that... Not!

    Thoughts from a Brother.

  • a nflder only needs one shot.

  • How come barnes sells so many bullets every fall then i wonder :^) .....

remindes me of the guys you see on the river salmon fishing that like to say"you only needs one fly, when they gonna take they gonna take"...but he has a big can of flys in his pocket :^)

  • Nice Bull!

Smart hunters shoot again even with a good first shot. If you let them wander off, they end up falling down in the middle of the swamp just to spite you. lol

  • @mcsemcsa - I've shot my share of moose over the years and I have never taken a second shot at any of them. If you hit them in the lungs, or take the time to pick a good hump shot he wont go far if he goes anywhere at all. I shoot, then I wait a half hour or so and go get them. Never backfired on me yet, and I've knocked down near on 20 animals in my days.

  • very nice buck! good video!

  • hahahahahahahahahahah its a bull dumbass, moose are bulls, deer are bucks

  • hey..good video..what area of nl is it?

  • west coast Long Range mountains

  • Fantastic hunt, cool video and great Bull.

Congrats and nice work. You did a great job on the vid too!

    Five stars *****

  • thanks ,just bought a new camera so i hope to capture it in better quality next season and hopefuly get some calling em in action...cheers

  • Awesome video!!!! Looked like ya all had some fun, also nice bull.

  • was a blast

  • hi!

getting my hunters license very soon now :D next week or so. :D then i most likely will post some on my other channel here on youtube.

where did you hit the moose first time? im guessing the lungs since the first reaction was to run.

  • he made a great first shot but they are tough and its better not to take chances...seen them go farther than that even with a direct heart shot before falling..look forward to your vids

  • yes, ive heard that those big ones tend to run 100 to 150meteres before falling even on a heartshot. :D thats pretty tough i must add!

hope the moosey tasted goooood :P (btw, how in earth did you transport the meat from those heavy bush? the horses werent hindered by the tight bush?

  • no horses all man power...we butcher it right there scalping all the meat off the bone and put it in meat bags..then just put a good turn on your backboard and pack it out to the pond for pick up..takes several trips but you have all the time in the world once its down:) skining and boning it out saves a HUGH amount of weight meat only works out to half the gross weight, cape and antlers adds another trip though so love when hunters just want the meat :)

  • when your headed hunting message me ill tell you the easy method of butchering it in the field...you actualy start from the animals back not the belly for starters..and when you really think about it you have to cut it up when you get home anyway lol

  • wow, that was an awesome hunt, I wish I was there just to be a part of it. you did a great job with this video. congrats on a good hunt.

  • cheers..you have some nice footage yourself

  • Nice Bull, I was planning on going up to NFLD to hunt some moose but noone got a tag. Great shooting, Nic

  • That thing was a monster! Nice hunt.

  • it was a dandy and a blast to film..cheers

  • nice bull, dad didn't get a moose license this year.. this is the third year in a row now that we haven't gotten a license :/
