If you study the form of making tafsir, the best way you make the tafsir is using other Qur'anic sources. Then you go to authenticated Ahadith and Sunnah.

Look at Surah Najm (53) : Verse 3-5. It even says "Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: He was taught by one Mighty in Power" . You look through the Qur'an the Authenticated Ahadith and the Sunnah.This brother didn't make the tafsir, he has gotten it from various books from various "mufasir" (people who are capable of making a tafsir of the qur'an).

Brother Toriseddie, please I urge you to read the Qur'an and authenticated Ahadith a little more. In Islam, it is not good to put your "own opinion" or your "own desires" when talking about Islam. Why do I say that? Because the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) didn't speak his "opinion or desires". Because whatever he said was straight from ALLAH (SWT).

Please take away that translation/tafseer.. Who are you to play around with God's words? Why would you throw in "(such as Jews)" & "(such as Christians)".. Allah warns all those who change his words... He said that people will change his words and that those people will see the his wrath.. Do not change his words. He didn't say anything about Jews or Christians in that surah so do no throw in someone's personal understanding of the surah and simply put in the accurate translation...

God warns those who will change his words, and you are distributing the message of those who change Allah's words.. Don't do it.. Also, Al Baraqah v. 90 is directed toward the Hebrews with Moses who turned away from God and began worshipping the Golden Calf. They are the ones who incur God's wrath, not all Jews.

"Such as the jews" and "such as the christians" - is that the really meaning of the surah?

It can be construed as such, but in no way is intended to focus our anger or hatred or violence towards Jews or Christians. In reality, God expects us to keep the Jews and Christians close to us and in our hearts and prayers. We are all brothers and sisters of the same God, and the same Book.

Personally, I don't believe we should lump jews and christians into those groups. A Jew and a Christian would not incur such wrath from God as to be codemned to Hell.

I do believe in the translation you put up about referring to the Jews and Christians b/c it's the Truth. Even some of them would agree if they knew about the Truth! Nor does it lead them away from Islam, if you only knew.

I view this video often, and with the amounts of comments your getting about the last ayah's tafseer, i'm beginning to think you should have left out the tafseer (right or wrong), because many don't understand it, and they are letting that ruin them from understanding the greatness of the surah. but i don't know much so.......

I allways take the tafseer from a scholar called: Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan. And basically what I do, I only copy all the text on the website and paste it, so I dont remove anything unless it be necessary, I didnt think that MUSLIMS would get upset of that if I knew I would have removed the tafseer...

and their is the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (SAW) reported from Adee bin Haatim (RA) concerning this{5}. And the Jews and the Christians even though both of them are misguided and both of them have Allaah's Anger on them - the Anger is specified to the Jews, even though the Christians share this with them,

because the Jews knew the truth and rejected it and deliberately came with falsehood, so the Anger (of Allaah being upon them) was the description most befitting them. And the Christians were ignorant, not knowing the truth, so misguidance was the description most befitting them.
