Fish will only grow to the size the tank will allow them too. Yes, if he had a bigger tank, they would grow larger. But they are fine in this one. Looks like there may be too many for this tank. But they are fine size wise. They can get up to 12 inches in a 5ft aquarium though. Point is, all fish will only grow to the size the tank will let them be comfortable in. They are fine!
@Mommiesgirl94CRW Stunting a clown loaches growth though will add a large amount of stress to the fish reducing the life expectancy, they have quite a fast growth spurt during their first year, after that their growth slows down considerably due to the fact they can live up to 20 years in the right conditions so they will continue to grow. However, as their growth cycle is a slow affair there is still plenty of time to upgrade them to a much larger aquarium.
man sorry to say but those clown loaches are going to get huge....they grow extremely slowly so it may take years but they do get up to 10". Despite the tank size they will outgrow it..from the looks of thigns they almost have already
uhhh... you might either want to get rid of some fishes (which would never be an option for me), or get a bigger tank. they need a bit more room then that.
yes i know ive had the same clown loaches for over a year, theyd grow larger if i had a 3ft tank, its very rare in captivity for a fish to grow more than 5" my brother is the manager of wyevale aquatics in widnes,i asked the same question when i bought them
Dude! Do you REALISE those clown loaches grow to 12 inches long?? Trade them in or something man! The tiger barbs are fine, but get something smaller than the clown loaches!
