...grandparents house and they didn't even have a radio, so I thought to myself: well, on this b-day, no "Lifelines" and smiled. I went to take a walk and I passed a neighbour's garden and they had a radio. In a few seconds, a song began...Lifelines. I started crying and couldn't believe my ears, it was the best b-day present ever ^^
Just a weird/fun/cute story. I have been an A-HA fan for more than 10 years now and it was kinda hard in an Eastern European country to find their songs at that time.. I heard them on tv and radio and just loved them. My fav song from them was and still is "Lifelines" (the words mean alot to me). And I know that I saw it very rarely on tv, hardly ever, but somehow, in three consecutive years I heard it on my b-day, July 21st, very spontaneously on tv. I remember that the 4th year I was at my...
@junisas1 Norway has 6 months of darkness in winter. Maybe it is good for the skin that there are no UV rays pentrating their faces for 6 months a year. Is that why they look so young? LOL ! Whatever - they still sound amazing and still look good as a bonus.
@sunray1100 Actually, it's 3 months, and the sun only "goes away" in Nothern Norway. But still, the rest of the country has short daylight hours in the winter.
I have never forgotten the day when I went to Aha concert in CHile, 1997 I think it was! I miss them!! I would like to see you again!!!! Wnen was this interview?
We "mainstream" Americans certainly missed out on the legacy of this wonderful band (with the exception of "Take on Me"). So sad they're hanging up their boots. I swear they're even more handsome at 50 than they were in the 80's!
I grew up with A-HA and can not find a band of their era that comes close to them, they are so underated in the UK, I think because they were being marketed as being a pretty boy band, that no one really took them seriously! thats why I think they have suffered from lack of chart sucess in the UK for so long.
it is amazing music but in Norway the racism is intense! in Bergen i was pulled out the list of transplants because according to the doctor i may not use the kidney properly. what does he know? then it was all a nice chat and another nurse simply said HEIL HITLER from the HAUKELAND Bergen hospital while hooking me off the dialysis machine telling me we minorities are too many and organs should be from locals to locals. Norway, Bergen 2010!!! and are dying here slowly! and are a citizen
@Herman6644 :) The song "Take on Me" was their blessing and the curse. I used to tell people "You should listen to rest of their music!" fell to the deaf ears. They are great! Love their music!
( ETERNAMENTE)
@Tostig68 Maybe, Magne is my cousin, and I sometimes chat with him by msn, and he tell me he's a little bit tired, but he loves music and he is hesitating.
@arielmagne - thanks for the insider info; when you say hesitating I thought the split was pretty final, but I still hope A-ha will write and play again.
Great Interview! I hear they will be touring the states soon. Awesome! I just wish the radio stations would play some of their new stuff like "Foot of the Mountain". We need to put the pressure on the stations to play it. All the DJ's know when they hear the name A-ha is "Take on Me" is the song they know how the Q up too.
Great video footage. Very nice interview. They look hotter than ever and are even better performers. We are starved in the U.S. for this type of footage, so please please keep it coming. God bless!
Again another wonderful interview, thanks! Although TOM is their signature song & put them on the map as one of the few truly brilliant bands to have a lasting career of 25 years... they have indeed recorded over the years many songs that are far better in every sense of the word... lyrically & musically than TOM. It is sad that so many people only think of TOM when they think of A-HA! It had a catchy tune & lyrics, Morten's amazing voice & a unique video...but A-HA is so much more than that!
You can call it whatever you want t call it... quarter of a century... 25 years... but, anyone watching this interview & seeing Morten for the first time would never believe that he will be 50 in two months time! Time indeed has been very kind to both men!
Unbelievable! Morten, himself, will be half of a century on September 14. Gods gift to women—Morten Harket. He is so...so...riveting young looking and more ....much more (perfect voice, face, body/soul....etc) I dare to say Gods perfect creation of a man (sigh)---My favourite :39 --- BTW Mimi, I gather we will be flying to London on November, right?
