trowing your reserve should be your LAST option. One time you will get problems with your reserve and then you dont have anything left! That is why it is called a Reserve parachute. Normal pilots trow their reserve on the ground or on a swing. And you guys even dont do it above water?! It only has to go wrong once and than trowing your reserve is not that very funny anymore. Please think about it before your ignore these words.
Training parachute release of reserves? Here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we train on a pond. We do a course called "SIV" (Simulação de Incidente de Vôo = Incident Simulation Flight).
@thisUNisrandom If no one has answered your question about line entanglements... paraglider reserves are packed in a deployment bag which the pilot throws away from himself and his rig. The weight of the compacted chute carries it away until it reaches the end. The last loop of risers is pulled through a loop that releases the bag and POOF! It all happens very fast and the chutes are packed to open instantly.
Answer: the red handle comes out, 2 when the red handle comes out the parachute pin comes out, 3 when the pin comes out the small drag chute comes out, then the parachute comes out ;-)
I recently fractured and compressed my L1 vertebrae landing badly on the ground with my annular reserve. Just watching this video creeps me out. But, great video, nice to see people landing properly, i though it was only possible with rogallos :-)
actually the emergency parachute (i really dont know how to call it.. english isnt my mother language) is just to save your life... you descend very fast though... you can break at leg or sth but you can keep your life safe... so his landing was hard but i guess hes alright
Quality is very shit...

In skydiving, canopy entanglements are very dangerous... how do you keep the para gliding canopy from tangling with the reserve lines??

You have a weird definition of fun. lol Those reserve shoots look small. Is the landing impact pretty noticeable?

You gotta understand, they are acropilots, they are far more skillfull than normal pilots... thats how they have fun.

No. Everyone landed savely and is still flying all around the Planet.
