  • my favorite song.

  • it's very beautiful

  • toni childs is on facebook. she will personally read your posts. her web address is tonichildsdotcom. she is cooler and more talented than you ever imagined.

    toni wrote about streaming video:

This is great if you want to watch the recording process for Citizens of the Planet, and hear the songs come together. The first day is free and about 60 minutes. check facebook her web page, or my profile tonichildsonfacebook.

  • One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. And correct me if I'm wrong if I don't say that you can't hear it continuously at least twice!

  • For me, this song was in a video about dolphins beaing captured for captivity. It breaks my heart to see them captured and put in tanks (check out the book: Rekindling the waters by my friend Leah Lemieux). This song reminds me of the dolphins, locked up, dreaming of freedom.

  • this is bigbearfrankwellwoods song

  • @betroll1 it is only beacus i love you and not being with you hurts soo much

  • @bigbearfrankwellwood Toni Childs, one of my greatest musical loves, is launching a new track and trying to establish a revolutionary new recipe for artistic integrity and independence in the music biz. If you love her like I do, check it out toni childs dot com or facebook

  • I saw Toni Childs perform this song live in a little country town Aust. last October. At the very start it seared my heart which I thought was over the hurt. I realized it may never leave me, but that's O.K. I love the way Toni Childs bravely faces and expresses incredible pain. Her raw honesty is awesome, and it graces us to do the same.

  • @Jen6066 ageed ! i have missed this album so much !

  • I don`t know why I always start crying when I hear this song. I have not lost anyone. But of course I`ve had my share of moments in my life that has not been good... it`s my subcontience maybe...This song really moves me. I love it for what it brings out, lost memories or something I have tried to deny...facing the truth. t`s okay to be sad.

  • My Dad thought he was raising me. Growing me up. When he died, I grew up some more. Then, sharing music like this with the few folks that get it. In loco parentis, I am raised up.

  • BEAUTIFUL! :)

  • Composer David Ricketts, Singer Toni Childs =] beautiful song. will always bring a tear to my eye.

  • To all the people who have responded to this song....Keep your feelings and love strong within you. The ones we have lost are never far from our hearts. To have a song that we can all relate to....Kudos to Toni Childs for understanding our feelings of loss and love, and giving us a song that we can all relate to.

  • 4 people didn't like this song? insane :)

  • a loving man onse played this song for me with much pain included because both he and i knew, that we were never to be together - in spite of the love that was between us. How painfull and I just said nothing- i just held him tight and walked on.

I wasn´t able to say anything. I didn´t dare to take the consequences. I´ll have to live with this pain and regret for the rest of my life. the scared ond haunted soul.

  • IsHisGirly.......so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you because I'm no stranger to losing a loved one. I know the pain as do many many other people who have experienced the same thing. I just lost my mother 2 weeks ago. The bible states in Proverbs 10:14 "Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy."

  • @kormo06 is the bible really the best place you can think to gain insprition for her sitiatuion a book based on the only religion that uses a symbol for death as its main point of worship??

  • @5394114a You conveniently omit birth as the other symbol .

  • Because God created us as individuals, only we can know our own pain and joy. While others can relate...they don't feel exactly what we feel because other people don't share in our intimacy with certain of our loved ones. The heart is an individual thing.

  • God does feel our joy and pain though because he is aware of and shares what is in our hearts...he knows us. You have the opportunity to see your loved one(s) again through Jesus Vhrist because he is the resurrection and life. He will raise those of us who come to him and receive him into our hearts...just ask him to come into your heart and be your saviour, healer and restorer. He loves you.

  • some how the words of this song. speaks to me. like I've been there before. this song brings me back to my past.

  • a band called blue mobile did a version of this track . can anyone help me find it ? mant thanks

  • a touching post ishisgirly, but let it go, you will see him again...you will see him again

  • an amazing singer , writer, and beautiful song, I love you Toni, ........Ken

  • I bought this album when it first came out in 1988. I was only a teenager then, and was mesmerised by this song and the deepness of it. Somehow this song was different to others I listed to. Now as an adult I find the same deepness, however I also find some understanding as I feel it through adult eyes. Each time I play it I so feel the haunting beauty of it. Thank you Toni xx

  • Ditto. One of the greatest songs i have ever heard.I'm 40 now and it still moves me every time.Just beautiful.Thankyou Toni.x

  • @humphreybbare toni childs is back and in the recording studio now. catch her on facebook.

  • I had never heard sing until a few days ago. I had woken up from a strange dream I had, after taking a short nap on the couch when I got home from work. Anywho, I turned on the TV when I woke up and went into the kitchen. I didn't check or change the channel, just turned on the TV and walked away, and the movie "The Last Word" (1995) was about to end, and they play this song right before the movie ends and continues into the credits. I immediately loved this song and listen to it everyday!!!

  • i haven't listened to this song in a long time and always loved it. I'm going through some stuff that i know is nothing to most of the world but is enough for me. i listened to it and all those worries my mind was hitting me at once, intensely, quieted down so I could relax. it isn't so much the words, which part of it is but, the relaxing, soft, intoxicating soothing music that helped calm me...

  • i just went to your website. nevermind. you are too fucked up for me to assist. good luck and best wishes.

  • a dear friend and soul mate let me hear this song about 3 years ago and I will always hold DTF and Toni in my heart and soul. Life has separated us for now...but in my dreams I will always chase the moon and think of "fitch"...kenney

  • You don't have to find someone else. Watch Brother Sun Sister Moon the movie and think of your husband. Life is Eternal...God Bless You!

  • I'm 49 aged.... In June 1995 i got an amazin' vacancy in Formentera. There I felt in love with a sweet and beautiful woman. Every day when she came on the beach and i saw her my heart beaten like a drum and my breath left me for a moment..... Now when i think to her and i try to recall her sweet face i use to listen this haunting masterpiece................................ livin' just for love..............

  • Can someone upload "Womb" please.

  • i dedicate this to my closest and dearest friend who lost her little one today...Love u always miss M xxx

  • someone gave me a tape yes a tape of the union i could not believe what i was hearing, it blew me a way.

  • can anyone help me a band in the early 90's did a cover version of this track can anyone tell the bands name. i think it was blue something .many thanks

  • but latley, the pain is misting away. Well. not that much. The only joy in life that I have right now, is my friend, Nick B. He cares for me. Despite my faults. I don't think I will have much time with him for long though..... Anything could seperate our friendship and care for eachother............... :(

  • People think i'm to dumb, or to young, or unprepared. To be looking for the thing that completes me. After moving so many times, switching from school to school, losing loved ones, and being cheated on, loved, hated, wounded, jaded, in such a short time, I need it to stop. It is just too much..... I have lost ALL my friends. My family is pushing me away from themselves. I am lonley. I guess the pain is the only reminder that they onced cared and loved me........

  • @kirsten72andersen

I dream of a "good death" every day but I KNOW it will get better!

I just think... Man ...when I put my head on this pillow.....would it be so bad NOT to wake up??????

  • @Hermione5445 You sound neither dumb nor unprepared.

    You sound wounded yet insightful.

I think you will be fine if you listen to your own instincts!

  • Love this song..So haunting..

  • I adore Toni Childs & This Song, I found reading the comments here, the different memories that this song represents, sadness, loss, or a feeling of powerlessness. When I feel this song, i am always reminding myself that its ok to have to shut life out & run. TY4U & posting

  • I appreciate your kind intentions. I'm 28 and until two years ago, I had the most amazing life. I try to be happy and positive. I wake up each day and say to myself that I won't dwell, that it will be a good day, but all I see is the emptiness that his absence has created. I of course feign a smile and try to force good times in my life, but so far it's been impossible. I wish we hadn't waited to have children, at least I could have some part of him here still.

  • debbie and I made love to this song and although it is sad...I found my love, my life my thirst ....forever deb...forever big as the sky

  • dont stop dreaming toni childs. betty

  • I lost my husband 2 years ago. They say that time heals. I'm waiting for the day the sun shines again. I smell the rain. I feel the breeze. I see him every night in my dreams. I look forward to sleep so I can see him again. When you find the one that completes you, what do you do when their gone? I hate being told I'm young. That I'll find someone else. I don't want to. I want him.

  • There´s no one else .......I Know......no one can heal the scar. Never. It is desteny.

  • @IsHisGirly So sorry to hear this. The church I belong to believes we can seal to our loved ones forever and eternity. Like one of our church elders said, "Heaven wouldn't be heaven with out his wife and family," agree. If you would like to know more, send me a message.

  • @IsHisGirly

So sorry.. to hear of your loss.. Your words touched my heart. I just had to say so.. God is listening. He will help you.. He helped me.. God Bless You!

  • @IsHisGirly how may i help you? your energy has so far canceled my messages so i can only assume you are really angry. i am willing to assist you but you must let go of your anger or otherwise I cannot help. Would you like help?

  • @IsHisGirly Your words brought me to tears. I am very sorry for your loss. I am sorry, I don't have the words to heal your pain.

  • @IsHisGirly hope you heal sometime

  • @IsHisGirly I am so sorry for your loss and that day will come keep your head up and believe

  • @IsHisGirly He will be with you all your life...in your heart...take care babe!!!!:)

  • @IsHisGirly I know the feeling

  • @IsHisGirly tho time moves like a river flowing over obstacles in its path the heart never forgets the pain it feels

  • @IsHisGirly I know what you mean. Although I did not lose someone from death, sometimes breaking up with someone you truly loved feels like you are mourning. You just can't deal with the empty void, even if it's years later. I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's loss, I'm sure he is smiling at you from heaven and every breeze you feel is his way of kissing your cheek...stay strong XO

  • @IsHisGirly My dad passed away a year ago and my mom is suffering so much without him. They were married 49 years. We don't understand these things on this earth. Lift your eyes to God and ask for his comfort and the ability to carry on. I pray for you and all that have to go through this, soon I or my wife will endure the same. God bless you!

  • I miss you too.........

  • i miss you so @ weintraube80 ♥

  • So hauntingly beautiful...

  • This song was used on "Days of Our Lives" also when the character "Eve" was going to kill herself. I was in High School at the time and feeling a little lost too and it made me think. I still get a lonely feeling every time I hear this song. Now I realize "who" I was waiting for..."dreaming of you dear..."

  • yes i love it baby... it let me feal ... near too you ♥ *sorry about my english*

  • I wished that you gon´ like it baby...♥ i love you <3

  • wow ... amazing. i didn´t know this song bevor... no words ... wonderful!

  • I used to run at night along the beach in Santa Cruz, California when this song came out. It sifted into my ears from a tape in my walkman as i looked at the stars. This was before Bush, 911 and how crunched down the world feels now. The nights back then were wild and free! :)

  • just heard it and im dreaming

  • I know this song since Moonlight and Valentino was out in 90s. Think it's amazing..

  • I´m still dreaming, too. I´m dreaming for ever.

  • My heart is still broken, for ever I think. But this song is on my side. Thanks for ever.........

  • .......but I'm still dreaming.......

  • My first listen. Hauntingly, stunningly beautiful. Seems difficult to put these emotions into words that the heart can explain.

  • First heard this in 1988!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Toni has such a power unique voice. Extremely talented!! Love it!

  • in ricordo di ciò che è stato tra noi...

  • I saw Toni in Boston in the spring of 1989. The show started one hour late. She started beautifully, I was stunned! Then after about 5 songs she had an emotional meltdown on stage, the likes of which I hadn't seen before or since. I'm glad to see that the world still values her great work. She's always been too real for mainstream.

  • How do you mean emotional meltdown? That sounds like an interesting story so I'm curious that the story is, behind that comment. :)

  • She just started crying and saying how people think they know her but nobody really does. She lost all of her composure and couldn't finish the show. I felt really bad for her, it must have been really embarrassing.

  • PS In spite of that strange performance she was still amazing. It just showed how real she is. What you see is what you get with her. She really exposed her vulnerability, honesty and incredible sensitivity. She was beautiful.

  • I think tall32guy, that you are exactly right. She's depressed and feels guilty about it. Some people might deny that, but that's just because they are bitches.

  • I must misinterpret the meaning of this song. To me it has a dark and depressing sound and always has. It seems about a deep depression. Am I wrong or, well, what is the interpretation? LOL

  • @tall32guy No it's contemplative, searching for light, full of deep thoughts & of course dreamy.

  • Well then explain to me where she says "my heart/locked and fearful", "this life's been so bad", "can't stop these tears"... LOL Sure sounds like the subject of the song is depressed to me! LOL

  • Have this song in my soul , an incredible cd , deep , strange . thank you for the post

  • it's a so sweet and sad song! i love it and love the movie "moonlight and Valentino" in which i found it for the first time. Thanks to whom who had posted it.

  • ich liebe dieses lied...

  • Where can I download it free?

  • i love this lady

  • When I first heard this song, I thought immediately of the love of my life who was with me no longer. He had found another path to take, and had taken it. But my heart aches... and so as I listened, I cried.

And every time I hear it now, I still do.

  • Still love this song after all these years....just will never to be surpassed.

  • I have been looking for this song. It was in the movie Moonlight and Valentino. I just love it.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful song! Thank you for posting!

  • Still so good

  • I first heard this song in 1988. A dear friend gave it to me on a tape. I fell in love and have felt connection to this song since then at various times in my life. It speaks of yearning and being haunted. Of knowing the ghost of what should fill you. And knowing when you have come home and don't chase the moon any longer. This song is passion, love, loss, as well as realizing where home finally is in the soul. That is how I have felt this song full circle.

  • I love you baby!

  • I Love Your take on it!! Very inspiring and heart felt!! .. Talk to me more! ; )

  • @kyssed1 what a gorgeous comment.

  • allways so beautiful.

  • Oh Gott, habe so lange nach diesem Lied gesucht. Habe "Moonlight and Valentino" gesehen und mir ging das Lied nicht aus dem Kopf...

  • Wow, I need to dig this album out again. It takes me back to my 39th year. Lots of things percolating that year. I think this album helped bring things up and out for me. It is so primal. Thank you Toni.
