Wrestlers are a nightmare even for BJJers who are familiar with the ground. A pure Muay Thai guy who doesn't train in takedown defense is going to have a rough time. Too many Muay Thai guys make the mistake of training with BJJers when they should train with world-class wrestlers. It's wrestling not BJJ that will keep the Muay Thai guys on their feet. Otherwise they're on their back doing rudimentary BJJ just to survive.
