IF YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE RECORDING AS I DO THEY ARE BOTH THRILLING AND THERE ARE MANY PARTS WHEN THEY SEEM TO WANT TO OUTSING EACH OTHER WHICH EVEN MADE IT MORE THRILLING .IT WAS ALSO SAID THAT THEY WERE BOTH PUSHING OR LABORING  ALOT VOCALLY BECAUSE OF THE HIGH ALTITUDE . Fantastic, this live 1951 Mexico AIDA is tremendous. Maria is not very subtle in "O patria mia" (the high C is sung forte, not piano) but the rest of her performance is superb. The E-flat is phenomenal, but she is caressing and seductive in the Nile Scene. I loved Oralia Dominguez as Amneris. In the final scene neither Callas nor Del Monaco have problems with volume, long arching phrases held forever, the violins swelling and subsiding, and love conquering death. Listen, people, and marvel.
