Ludacris to, busta rhymes collaborated with dj tiesto recently, and with kat deluna (pop), eminem collaborated with rihanna, skylar grey.. a lot of rappers collab with pop artists.. I get your point, to me kanye is also more pop lately, like his old albums better..

I was more so trying to speak to how some artists either think they are a genre of music they are not, or how they attempt to try and be a genre they are not, and fail at that.

But I understand what you mean.. songs like all of the lights, runaway aren´t hiphop songs to me either.. In my opinion he is both, he is a pop-mainstream artist, but also has some great rapsongs.. I mean, I think in this song his verse is really great, and he has lot of hiphop songs.. but also a lot of pop songs, I agree.

@tonyisserious Yea but there's nothing wrong with being diverse. Hip hop fans more so than any other fans of other genres think too much inside the box. It's like they don't believe in anyone experimenting and thinking outside the box. They're way too limiting in what they believe their favorite artists should and should not do and that's a shame. Imagine if Ray Charles didn't try country just cuz his fans thought it was a bad idea.

The only thing 50 cent is good at is selling out and making a lot of money, but that's why Kanye West has Jay Z. 50 Cent and Kanye West went head-to-head, Kanye West sold 1,000,000 albums the first week v.s. 50 cents 600,000. 50 cent said if Kanye out-sold him he would stop making solo albums, but he bitched out and made them anyways.

But when it comes to Kanye West, he's mainstream because he's made mainstream songs like "Golddigger" and "Stronger," but if you look at his albums, they are great music that don't get any radio play. So maybe you have to stop repeating what you hear others says and find music YOU like to listen to, but I know what I like, which is why Im on a Kanye vid.
