I'm sorry, but this is a terrible video. Everyone holds the guitar differently, because everyone should hold the guitar in the most comfortable position, which caries from person to person. The shape of the guitar also effects the way you physically can hold it. Crossing your legs doesn't necessarily make anything easier, it depends on the person. As does holding the pick, I personally think that picking technique is really inconvenient. Do what ever works best for you. Just experiment a little.

The picking hand wrist is absolutely supposed to be twisted. Twisting the wrist to pick greatly reduces your chances of developing tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome. It takes some time to get used to but after time it will increase speed and save your wrist...

It doesn't really matter if you're right or left handed to hold a guitar. It's true there are two different types of guitars: Left handed and right handed. But a left handed person can play a right handed guitar (Like what the guy in the video has) just as easily as a right handed person, and a right handed person can learn to play a left handed guitar just the same. If it's really important, do what Jimi Hendrix did.

Additional tips: Keep your nails cut (at least on the fretting hand), wash your hands before you play, and wipe down/clean your strings and guitar after each session.

yea, this video is very good. but to hold the pick i, and other guitarists hold it differntly, just watch some music videos of how your favorite guitars play and pay attention to how they hold the pick, hope this helps :)

Sage, I have a guitar tuner made by staggs, and on it you can change whatever key you wanna tune it to, But i cannot find the "Standard" Tuning. Heres what is one there when i go through it.

g,b,v, c u, d u, c key, f key, Bb key, Eb key. Which one is standard? Is it "G"?
