@kevfulltilt1 no its bad to ride it like a four stroke and hold it full to the bar, 2 strokes your supposed to burp the throttle, but idling is fine its not burning hot enough or running hard to do damage
@seanmccullough67 I bought the bike and it was all original never been rebuild had it for over a year before I sold it. The thing ran like a champ and they last a lot longer than the motorcross bikes..which your suposed to change your rings every 10 or so hours to prevent early rebuilds. These bikes are good fun reliable bikes.
@quadfreak300 its a good trail bike but the only thing is man its a heavy bike. Its good though because its planted but it can be a brute sometimes. They move real nice i was going beside my buddy in his truck had it doing around 135-140 kph not miles. She moves quick my friends honda cr125 couldn't touch it. It beat me off the line but about 3 seconds later i flew by him.
@quadfreak300 its a great bike ther pretty fast and ther not very heavy im about 135 pounds and i hold up a rm 500 esy so its much lighter thn wat im used to but anyways i had one it was relible and just a nice bike
@Patrtickgilligan actually we were both wrong they both have about the same dry weight a 83" weighs 227lbs and the kdx (depends which year) from 220 to 235lbs
@quadfreak300 I have a KDX 200 and it goes about 60 to 70 mph. This bike can get up and get it. My bike has been rebuilt though. I wouldn't trade it for anything though
@lance101690 man your bike must be even faster than that. 60 mph is 100 kph and i almost hit 140 kph riding beside my buddy in his truck on that bike. Its a quick bike for sure lol
Personlly I hate oil injection. My Formula Z ski-doo is oil injected. I know why they do it. It makes sense so that if your touring and you pull up to a gas station you can just put gas in your tank cuz otherwise you'd have to have a container to mix it. But if the injector pump ever breaks your fucked! You'll seize the engine and won't even know it. Oil injected bikes are stupid, just mix before you leave home, its not as hard as people think.
thsi is a great trail bike... If you were actually into trail riding then this would be a great bike to you. obviously your not so fuck off. noone wants to hear your stupid opinion.
I bought one of these new in 1991. There are 2 versions. Enduro and MX. The enduro version had oil injection. No battery though. The horn was like someone whistling. Great little bike. Some stinking Harley riding apes stole it from the car park in the city where I used to park it in 1992 and that was the end of that.
No man. I don't know of any bikes that are, I could be wrong, but I've never seen any none company like honda or kawasaki or anything like that with oil injection. I know ski-doos but thats about it. Anyways mixing aint that bad just as long as you get your math right. This bike is 32:1 mixture so i either get 8L of gas and put 1/4 of a 1L bottle of oil or 16L of gas with 1/2 bottle of oil
@magnummcneil I have a suzuki JR 80 thats oil injected, its cool not to have to mix it, but be very careful that the oil pump doesnt malfunction, because you would obviously seize the engine. btw the suzuki JR80's are 2 stroke and so is the kdx, but the kdx is mix 32 to 1
The only bikes that I remember being oil injected were the 2 stroke dual sport bikes of the 70's and 80's. All the offroad bikes that I know of, you had to mix the oil and gas. I'm an old fuck so I remember very well too. I'm 45.
@bigdee1984 mixing gas is way better ...oil injectors get clogged and your rebuilding a motor ....i just bought a jet boat the first thing i did is ripped the oil injection system out
Just because you can't cat walk doesn't mean you have to change the piston. You need a nice new back tire for start otherwise you'll just spin. Try doing it on flat surfaces that have little give. This bike is not like a motocross bike is doesn't lift that easy up in higher gears. Mixing a a good synthetic racing oil and good gas can give you some extra power.
No I just have stock exaust. My bike will lift if you pop the clutch and give it a big shot of gas. It takes practise to do it in higher gears. I didn't really do that much of that. I mean you could put a high compression piston in, but unless you getting blow by theres not really a need. If if you were getting blow by inside the cylinder you would notice as your progressing through the gears, getting up into the higher rmps 2 shift to the next gear.
Yeh, its pretty heavey. Alot heaveier then a motocross bike. Especially a 2 stroke. I got on a RM 250 and it weighed about the same if not less then this bike.
the powervalve on the kdx is enouge to wake the dead.. i go riding with my m8 who has a 93 kdx 200 and its good fun but when u jump on my 01 yz 250 that thing flyes
i got a 1991 kdx200 and i need some advice from someone who actually knows what they're talkin about. i have a problem with the kickstarter, it hardly ever catches and when it does u can only get about a half kick or less out of it. i have the kawasaki book for it but its not very helpful. anyone know what might be wrong before i go tearing it apart? i'm thinking either something's shot or the spring isn't splining the gears right.
Depends on how new you want. I payed $1750 for my 91. I saw a 01 going for $2400 i think. Either way, your getting a good bike, if your looking for an enduro bike. If your looking for for acceleration & speed but with more maintenance & costs, go for a 250 2 stroke. I rode a 250 and surprisingly its quite a bit lighter then this bike. Thats what I'm moving to next year.
Thats not bad, I found a MX 175 for 700 bucks, Figured I might pick that up for a toy, But I still want a KDx200, Just seems to be a generally reliable bike,
Sorry man I can't really help. I know that i get better mileage fur sur then a motocross 2 stroke. The 250 4 stroke im not sure. Quite rare as loads of owners remove the oil pump and tank as it has a tendency to fail...
