If you can please read through the comments it IS said somewhere and there is even a link to the english manual with all the information needed for the operations you are asking.

ALSO : everybody should know I do NOT have the phone anymore. Thanks.

  • Is that little black square in the centre a trackpad? Can you function the entire phone using that trackpad? I really want this phone but I hate manual arrow buttons, if it is a trackpad, then it's the perfect phone! Please reply :)

  • @TheAlexacaius Yes it is exactly a trackpad. It can be used for navigation through the phone menu.

    Good luck ! :)

  • @parasys1337

Since I don't have the phone from about an year or so , I won't be able to answer your question.

    Please read the comments.

  • guys: japan has forced docomo to release all of their phones UNLOCKED in 2011, (to increase competition) if you want to wait till then, there is a way higher chance it'll work perfectly on your carrier

  • @ShadowSnike

Not EXACTLY , but something like this what are you saying , so better wait , it's not going to be this exact model, but something similar might come up. But still , a keitai is a keitai.

    p.s. consider Android!

  • does this phone support MP3 file formats?

thinking of buying it, and i heard that most of japanese phones don't support mp3 cause of copyright and stuff..

  • @4everKikyo

true. this one doesn't support mp3 file types.

  • @4everKikyo which is good

  • i have this phone i love this phone but i have a probelm the reception is really bad... does anyone know how to change the network to 3g or something for this phone?

  • @pheonixboy741

You can try manually selecting 3G network from the phone settings network settings , but remember it's working with a hypersim , and that's one of the main reasons for reception problems. Drops and so on.

  • @IceNio So, 3g doesnt work? i wanna also buy a docomo phone and use it in europe. so 3g will not work?

  • @IceNio So, 3g doesnt work? i wanna also buy a docomo phone and use it in europe. so 3g will not work?

  • @parasys1337

It might , it might NOT , it depends on your carrier , phone , kind of hypersim , reception in your area and so on.. ;-)

  • Could you navigate the menu when you rotate the screen?

  • @ToxicSlushiie

    Yes , it's becoming a touch-screen with different menu-style.

  • @IceNio

Aiyahh..I want one..Uhm would it work on a Canadian network if I buy a hypersim?

  • @ToxicSlushiie

It should. There's a lot of people using keitais in Canada.

Search in the Howard Forums Japanese thread and you'll see.

Good luck , have fun and remember that from next year probably we'll see fully unlocked official japanese handsets! :)

  • @IceNio really by next year? =D

  • @ToxicSlushiie So, 3g doesnt work? i wanna also buy a docomo phone and use it in europe. so 3g will not work?

  • do you know how to keep the LED backlights to stay bright while ur playing a video??

  • @BlackWingedAngel117

Hello friend ! There's an option in the menu when you play a video file.

You can also choose from the display settings menu in the phone settings options , what can the display to do , and when.

Good luck , and sorry but I cannot remember perfectly settings from about more than six months already ! :-)

  • how do u put videos on it. please reply

  • i need this phone!!!! продайте мне его) хочу такой себе) (rus)

  • @ellredbull

Sorry , but we are not selling the phones here. It only happened ones , cause this one was mine , it's not anymore.

You can find it in various places for sale on the internet. One of them is ebay of course. Good luck !

  • @IceNio How do I unlock it? that he worked in the Russian networks?

  • @ellredbull You need a small microchip called hypersim. Search the internet there's a lot of information about it. Good luck!

  • How did you get those videos to work?!??! videos on my sh06a only work if they are specially encoded and named and placed in the perfect place in the directory.., which i can never get right.. X(

  • @mxkun by absolutely the same way. Encoded into mp4s as far as I can remember , placed under a correct filename and correct directory , and it all works quite well. There a small trick , that you can do , although I don't remember it very well. It's somewhere in the menu of the phone where you can "sync" some photos, sounds and videos and it automatically adds them to it from your memory card and no need for special naming. :) Look around the web for the way to do it! Good luck !

  • @mxkun

You need to place all sort of data (like music, videos and photos) in folder Private/Sharp/Import. Then You go to the menu and go to Life Kit then micro sd and bulk sort microSD and press ok. Thats all. Now you can find your data in good folders. =)

  • there is a phone i wont from japan what can i do to get to to work outside japan till i go to japan ?

  • @kendrainuzuka

This is a very complicated question , it depends on the carrier and on the phone itself and on the people responsible for enabling Japanese phones to work outside Japan. Be more specific and I'll try to answer your question.

  • Thank you.

The phone allows for custom ring tones in .aac and .wma formats.

The phone need to be unlocked via hypersim card.

I haven't try this or any other phone in Canada with Rogers , but as far as I know it should work pretty good.

  • nice phone =) and nice video too..nice choice of songs ! anyway, i was wondering if this phone allows me to set my own song as the ringtone.. in .mp3 format, or etc? If not, what type of music file does this accept? And also, does this phone have to be unlocked with hypersim? and would it work well in Canada with Rogers? thanks . if anyone could answer any of these questions, it'll be much appreciated =)

  • if someone is calling you does it show who's calling when the phone is closed?

  • Yes.

  • ive been doing alot of research on this phone, and it sounds really nice! i love the design! right now i have an iphone and i always use the internet on it. if i get this phone its going to be hard to cope without wi-fi... ;(

  • Does this phone have wifi? How's the texting function? Does the phone lag? thanks!

  • The Phone does NOT have WiFi functionality.

Texting was fine when I've used it ,there are some differentials than other regular phones , although I managed to text just fine. I don't remember if it had T9 or not , I believe NOT.

Lag isn't the appropriate word for the term , but I understood you.

Considering my own needs and perspectives the phone didn't lag. Maybe a little , but it's normal , nothing too-much , like let's say some LG phones that I've used with a touchscreen technology.

  • is the touch screen just for the camera or can you do other things like text?

  • The screen becomes "touch screen" when the display is flipped over.

I am not quite sure about text messaging , it might be available. I don't know , or can't remember anymore.

  • I cannot choose between sharp phones or the LG GD900 Crystal! Which one do u guys think i should get? Which one do u like more?

  • Well , it depends for which exactly sharp phone is the question about.

Otherwise if you didn't ready on the internet you should consider that not all (just 2-3 actually) japanese phones (keitais) are fully unlocked.

It depends on you. If you want flawless operation , go for the LG. But the keitais are giving such uniqueness that you can not find in the other brands, outside Japan that is. They are just really rare and exotic. But they come with a price - not very stable reception ,

  • drop downs and so on.. read on somewhere to find out more and to decide for yourself.

I personally already had 2 Sharps and I was really really impressed and fascinated by the design and built quality of the products.

  • price?

  • sold it 2 months ago. look in the internet for more information :)

  • I don't have it anymore cause I've sold it.

Video capturing isn't really good as pictures.

The pics are really nice I think , don't have either, you can search online.

  • do you have samples of it taking video and sample of pictures? and is it true that it dosnt work with 3g?

  • It works really well here in Bulgaria.

I personally bought it off of ebay , but i'm selling it at the moment so you can contact me if interested.

Best way is to buy from a person I think , cause it's cheaper :-)

  • where did you buy this mobile phone? I'm just wondering because I don't know whether it's a good idea to trust the ebay sellers who sell these DX

    but it's an awesome phone!

Does it work fine in Bulgaria?
