I worked psych services at a jail for 7 years. I was required to see everyone coming in on serious charges. I never even 1 time saw someone coming in on murder charges that did not have a previous felony arrest and the vast majority had a past felony conviction. These people do not obey laws. They will get a gun, bat or whatever. We need criminal control. Inocent people need to be allowed to defend themselves. Our founding fathers gave us the 2nd for this and several other reasons. Its simple!!

That our law makers took from her the right to defend herself and her family, because she couldn't arm herself. In this video, I see the victims that was not able to defend themselves. Would this organization post the stories of survivors who was able to defend themselves with their own tools? It's easy to demonize a tool by putting in victim's accounts.

IF this lady was able to stop that tragedy from happening with her own gun, she won't be in this video.

A good first step is to keep illegal guns out of the hands of criminals -- these are the people who are hurting and killing others, often innocent bystanders, too often -- kids. We need to tell lawmakers to pass stronger laws!

Criminals will always get illegal guns, no matter what you do. Even if you had a total nation-wide gun ban, you'd still have guns anyway. I know that criminals will always get guns, and this fantasy that we can somehow stop criminals from getting guns by violating the rights of the law-obiding citizens is just never going to work. Maybe that lady should get a gun so that she can defend herself, her son and husband died, maybe she should see that as a wake up call and get a gun herself.

Do you speak of laws for law abiding citizens who tend to become the victim of gun control laws or the criminals buying from the black market to which the government can't just say "Oh, that's not lawful".

I understand that people want to defend their legal right to gun ownership, but isn't there something we can do to stop the illegal guns being used in violent crimes? I hope we have some smart people working on this!!! Philadelphia has such a rich history, it's sad to see it falling to criminals. Take back the streets for the rest of us who love Philly.

How can illegal guns be defined? Anti gun advocates have been getting the government to define each type of gun to be banned from serial numbering the bullets each gun uses (if its not serial numbered, its discarded) to limiting the magazine capacity of the weapon. A gun is a tool. It's not the gun that kills. It's the one pulling the trigger. It's a tool, and it's not the one that kills. The gun can't pull its own trigger.

We need to be hard on criminals. It is very difficult to keep guns out of the hands of criminals who are not incarcerated without infringing on the rights of good citizens, which we must not do. If I were shot by someone with a criminal record I wouldn't ask "how did he get a gun?" I would ask, "Why was he walking around free to shoot me?"
