@firetail2 Think they meant to say "Terrible, that I wasn't there", in response to the person who posted "I was there ! i was 17", right before them.
This is my new theme song! I used to sing this back in '98 on my way to Masters Swim class at Haines Point pool, in DC, getting up at 4AM for for 5AM swim class. Boy was that morning sun a welcome sight! Lost my son, and both of our childhood's, replaced by fear, such a true telling memento to faith. Like the lyric substitution...
This is by far the best version of this track ... I wish I could find the exact version with the same intro ... there are several out there including the PSB ver everyone keeps quoting, but none have the exact intro they used here.
True Talent.... so many live performances don't hold a candle to the "production" version.... This group doesn't need much "Editing" to sound really fine.... Hey... did that drummer break a stick?! (at about 4: 32)
I Bet George Well Freakin Nail This song and make it 1000 time better I cant wait to here it but I hope It well be on itunes :( anybuddy no if it well please reply
I LOVE NEW ORDER!!! A fine tune indeed x Also the piano bit from this tune does anyone remember a dance track that was made from it?? and what it was called? poss a remix x

It's the poppiest, brightest sounding, least bass-driven song they have. I always admired the fact their albums never showed them. It was all about the music. No cheap marketing pics.
@singaporemusicboy Unfortunately not, it looks like they've split for good now, Barney and Stephen are in Bad Lieutenant and Hooky was in Freebass before it disintegrated earlier this year

they're just a completcriticisedely different band man if new order continued as joy division they would have failed and been . it wouldn't work. they had to change, and that's why new order were so awesome! in a completely different way to joy division.
@tokyoselecter i'm a bit young to be accurate, but, isn't it right that new order were in america for something (can't remember, but i think it was just a holiday), came back and started doing what they'd seen... which is partly why the hacienda was too early. @kazmaq Yes, the Brits have been musical innovators for 50+ years. For some reason they always seem to set new standards and create music like no on has ever been able to do.
@russ13b watch the dvd '24 hour party people' with steve coogan, its about new order and happy mondays b4 they were famous, also bout hacienda and stuff, good film.....................
@johnslack13 have seen it a couple of times. Tony wilson described it as a novelisation, and recommended you watch the film instead of reading the book due to the inaccuracies and/or exaggerations, to the extent that he points one out in the film (in the back of the van). Still good though, and gives you a good idea of how things were!!
Yeh, I think most people know the real meaning, but that one line change does make it very clear. Not to mention a bit more sense than "they're afraid of what they see".
Doesn't Bernard sound good here though? Almost exactly like the record.
